28 Weeks after
the rage virus has finally vanished
from Britain, the US Army is starting to transfer
people back to their homes. They have to take it step
by step though as they're still cleaning up dead
bodies after the massacre so for now, a group of
survivors have to live in a small area of London.
Little do they know that the first outbreak was
merely a warning, this time it's time to really panic!

It's no secret that I loved 28 Days Later and I really
didn't think that a sequel with a new director and
an all new cast could be even worth checking out.
However, after reading a couple of positive reviews
for this movie, I decided to go see it anyway - and
man am I glad that I did. 28 Weeks Later actually
manages to do the impossible - it outshines its
predecessor, something which very few sequels have
managed to do in the past. While staying true to
the first movie, it also adds more drama, more hysteria,
more gore, more panic, and believe it or not, it also
has a better plot!
The movie revolves around Tammy and Andy, a teenager
and her younger brother who have just been relocated
back to London 28 weeks after the rage virus has
disappeared. Waiting for them in London is their
father, Don, who managed to survive the infection
against all odds. Naturally, like with all viruses,
the rage virus hasn't disappeared, it's just gone
into hiding for a while, and it's ready to come back
out. Fear and hysteria starts spreading in the
secured area when the infection breaks out again.
Sure enough, the plot doesn't sound all that clever,
but trust me, it is. To have the main characters be
kids is a great approach as you immediately want them
to survive. Imogen Poots and Mackintosh Muggleton are
also very impressive actors and pull off great
performances. However, the best part of 28 Weeks
Later has got to be the panic scenes. It's complete
and utter chaos and before you know it, it's turned
into a Battle Royale kind of movie, and I loved every
second of it. Not only will it satisfy horror fans all
around the world, but it will also satisfy those who
like clever thrillers and non-stop action movies.
I feel like I'm ready to blurt out all the twists any
moment now just because I found them to be so cleverly
executed, so I'll have to stop writing now before I do.
If you liked 28 days later, you will just love this
sequel as it's better than its predecessor in just
about every way. It's a fast-paced, action-filled horror
flick and is by far the best movie of the year. Don't
waste your time with movies like "The Covenant" and
"Stay Alive", if you want a good and extremely
entertaining horror movie filled with gore and scares
and panic and, well, just about everything you could
ask for from a horror flick, 28 Weeks Later is the
way to go. Don't miss this!

I don't know where to start, the entire movie is just
a complete bloodbath, I don't think that I need to
tell you more than that.

I loved the dramatic score which worked on so many
levels. Again, much better than in the first movie.

28 Weeks Later beats the hell out of its predecessor,
which was also great. It has everything you could
ask for from a horror movie - and more! If you're
going to see a zombie movie this year, make sure
that it's this one (even if they're not really
zombies). Best horror film of the year - so far!
Bring on 28 Years Later!!
