A new girl has just transferred to a school after
the death of a girl at her last school. When a couple of
friends start investigating the case, they find out about
the number 999-9999. If you call this number after
midnight, you will get anything you ask for... in
exchange for something. But as the friends start
making their wishes, they start dropping dead after
every wish have been granted. How can the evil
phone number be stopped, and who or what is it
really that's granting their wishes?

This is Thailand’s take on Final Destination.
The opening scene is quite tame showing us a
girl hung in a flagpole and not much else so
you kind of get the feeling that this will be one of
those cheesy Asian horror comedies, which I have
grown so sick off. After 10 minutes into the movie
we still get the feeling that this will turn out to be
more of a comedy since there are a few things that
are just plain silly. But once you've crossed the 15min
mark, it gets interesting. This is almost as good as both
of the two Final Destination movies that USA has
produced, just that it has no big accident in the beginning,
and I love the airplane explosion and the traffic jam scenes
from the Final Destination movies so it doesn't
measure up completely with Final Destination.

The director sure knows what he's doing even if his
name isn't listed on imdb?? I thought the directing was
clever and used many nice angles and flaws are
hard to find. The acting is also good for being a
slasher movie like it is. The acting has been much worse
in many other new lowbudget Thai slashers that I have seen
so this was a nice surprise. Meanwhile, the special
effects are quite bad, many scenes look much too
computer made so that was a major turnoff.

I had never heard of this movie before so I was happy
when I came across this new Asian slasher movie. While
not being very original at all and many might also feel as
if it's a 976-EVIL rip-off, you have to remember
that 976-EVIL was made back in the 80's and my opinion
is that if a story or a "thing" hasn't been used in a
horror movie since the 80's, it's original and creative.
The ending was the main thing that bothered me
about it, some of it was very predictable, even if one
scene totally blew me away and took me by surprise, I still
think they could've managed it better. The ending wasn't just
predictable, it was also way too drawn out and it just
felt very uninteresting, I guess that's what happens when
you try to make a 2 hour-long slashermovie.

Well it certainly doesn't lack of gore. A girl is
impaled at the top of a flagpole. One gets a big pipe
impaled through the stomach, leaving guts
and the heart in the pipe opening. One gets a very
gory and drawn-out throat slashing. One person gets
the head cut in half and loses the hand, though
this scene looks incredibly computer made and it
felt more as if I was watching a Japanese animated movie
than anything else. Then a guy gets the guts ripped
out with help from some broken glass and one gets
razorblades sliced all over the skin... mmm... yummy.

Not many of these tracks include any vocals, mainly
it's just background music that you don't even notice.
Some cool rock music and some drum music is
mainly what the soundtrack here consists of but
we also get a very cool guitar/choir version
of O'Fortuna. Nice.

Pretty cool Thai Final Destination copycat, which
certainly deserves some credit for having a fair
amount of gore and many cool death scenes.
The movie itself is pretty unpredictable, apart from
the ending. I thought this was a very watchable movie
even if there are many other Asian slashers
that deserve more credit than this. Good movie though,
check it out if you ever get the chance.
