Preston lost his wife in a climbing accident six
months ago. Since then he has been wheelchair bound
and unable to use his legs. Him and his doctor,
Otis, head out to a cabin in the mountains to get
some peace and quiet. What none of them knows is
that these mountains are inhabited by a giant
sasquatch. Will they get out of this alive?

First off, let me say that this is way too good
for the Sci-Fi channel and deserved a theatrical
release. Abominable is by far the best sasquatch
flick I've ever seen. It's entertaining, it's
got a good and original story-line and it's got
some very talented actors in it. Unfortunately,
I didn't get to see as much of Tiffany Shepis as
I had hoped and the movie sure had its fair share
of problems. But I still think that this is better
than most TV-movies.

The story mainly revolves around Preston, a wheel-
chair bound man who's in a cabin in the mountains
with his doctor. Shortly after their arrival, a
couple of girls show up in the cabin next to them
and breaks their peace and quiet. Luckily, Bigfoot
soon shows up and starts munching away on the
girls. Preston can see everything through his
binoculars but can't do much about the situation.

Even though the plot is very original, I couldn't
help thinking of Hitchcocks "Rear Window" from
time to time. Either way I quickly fell in love
with the characters (even though I wish that the
girls would have been introduced better, they kind
of just show up to die). Rookie director Ryan
Schifrin does a pretty good job with directing
this but I wish that he had taken advantage of
the beautiful scenery a bit more.

Abominable is clearly a movie that sasquatch fans
should check out. I never thought that I could
enjoy a sasquatch movie as much as I did with this
one. It does have some problems and I think they
could have made much more out of it had they
removed a couple of the characters (especially
the woodsmen who really didn't have any purpose)
but this is overall a good effort and I can warmly
recommend this. If I had given .5 scores to movies
this would have gotten a clear 3.5, but it's just
not good enough to get a rating of 4 from me.

We get some decent gore in here with guts, a girl
folded in half, a slashed throat, a face bit out
and some more. Pretty good stuff.

The wind is very creative but I wish we had gotten
a little more powerful score, especially considering
that Ryan Schifrin is the son of well-known composer
Lalo Schifrin. Oh well.

Abominable is by far the best sasquatch horror
flick that I've seen. It's got some problems here
and there but they're quite easy to overcome. If
you enjoy sasquatch movies, you definitely have
to check this one out.
