Some friends decide to go camping for a weekend
to get away from school. A weekend full of sex,
booze and partying is in front of them, or at
least that's what they think. But someone else
is also sick of school and has decided that killing
people is so much more fun so when the camping
begins, so does the killing. They realize pretty
quickly that someone is out to kill them so they
decide to split up and find help, as you might
suspect, this is a very bad idea.

Good high budget slashers have become rare during
the past two years or so. It's a shame really
since I'm such a big slasher fan. Occasionally
we do get excellent slashers like Shredder and
Wishcraft though, and this goes right along with
them. Adam and Evil isn't a slasher that good
but the budget looks fairly high and that's
always a big plus. The story isn't what you would
call an original story, nor very solid, but it
will entertain you for an hour and a half.

Adam and Evil opens up with a bunch of good-
looking students ready to go on a trip. Well,
the mistake that the casting department did here
was that they took very good-looking girls but
the guys seem to have been chosen at random since
they don't have any special looks at all, and
the one who actually does look fairly good plays
the only virgin in the movie. Am I the only one
who thought that this was strange?

Anyway, the movie goes on and we get to know the
characters, but on a very shallow level. I mean,
I don't think we even got to know everybody's
names, which was actually of quite big importance
in the movie. So, skipping the character development
and heading right for the slashing. We're
introduced to a killer who does not like his
murders to be gory, in fact, this is probably
one of the driest slashers in history (with
exception of Bloody Murder ofcourse). The mask
is pretty cool but we don't get to see too much
of it, it's always too dark to see what the mask
looks like until the ending when the killer is
revealed.

Let's talk about the revealing of the killer shall
we. Now this was to me a big surprise, I mean,
I'm usually pretty good figuring out who the killer
is but this was totally unexpected and still when
you think about it, pretty obvious. I should
probably mention that the entire cast in this
had very little to no experience in films before
and I still thought that they were better than
many actors that have starred in plenty of
movies. The only thing that doesn't hold up
here is the story, and ofcourse the murders.
Other than that, it's a pretty good movie.

The goriest thing we get here is an arrow through
ones neck. Other than that there's just plenty
of slit throats really. This could really have
used some more gore.

Teenage slasher equals bad teenage rock-pop music.
I was not very fascinated to see that this uses
the same music that most slashers do, come on,
bring us something original or at least scary.

Not too bad. Actually not bad at all, pretty
entertaining slasher in the vein of The Burning,
only a lot less gory. This is nothing for gore
hounds. Could've been a whole lot better but
it's still better than most slashers these days
so I suggest that you check it out.
