Four friends are out camping but when they're abducted
by aliens the camping trip goes terribly wrong. One of
the girls wake up in a hospital and soon realizes that
if she doesn't get out of there soon, she will be
brainwashed by the evil doctors. As she struggles for
her life, she discovers that not everything is as it
seems at this creepy military hospital.

I was very sceptical when I started watching this DTV
sci-fi horror flick, mainly because of the title, Alien
Abduction doesn't exactly scream out "this is a great
flick". But since it's released by The Asylum, who have
been releasing a lot of great horror flicks lately, I
decided to give it a shot anyway. Lucky for me, I was
wrong about this one. Alien Abduction actually turned
out to be a pretty good flick. It's not like an Alien
rip-off at all, it's actually rather original. The story
doesn't focus a lot on the aliens, it focuses more on
the girl's escape from the hospital and that's what
kept me interested.

The four friends are all pretty bad actors except for
one of the girls so when it turned out that she was the
only one of them who had an important part for the rest
of the movie I was pretty happy. The directing is really
good actually, he shows us that you really can do a lot
even if you have a low budget. The special effects are
cool and the rooms inside the spaceship look pretty
expensive so everything basically looks a whole lot better
than one could expect from a low budget flick like this.

Now, I do have some complaints however but on the other
hand, don't I always? There are two different kind of
aliens in this, larva’s and big monster looking aliens
and what bugged me about the larva’s was that their
shrieking sound sounded a lot like seagulls, in fact
I'm pretty certain that those were seagull sounds. Also,
the girl seems a little bit too strong for her size, it's
pretty ludicrous to see a thin 20 something girl take
down a big buff man with her bare arms. Despite all this
though I am very pleased with what I got in the end and
I definitely recommend this for any fan of sci-fi horror
flicks as this is something that we haven't seen before.

We get a lot of blood splatter and some
gory "exploding" heads, when you see it
you'll know what I mean by "exploding".

The soundtrack is actually pretty sweet with some nice
techno influenced synth sounds, some piano music and
some cool atmosphere setting background music.

Shockingly enough, Alien Abduction isn't as cheesy as it
might sound, in fact this is actually a pretty good flick
for anyone who likes their occasional sci-fi horror. It
has its flaws but if you can overlook them, I'd sure give
this one a rent if I were you. Nothing to buy for your
collection though.
