A couple of scientists are working on extracting
the formula of the blood orchid from a gigantic
Anaconda when it breaks out of its cage and
escapes into the wilderness. Will they be able
to track down the oversized Anaconda before it
eats the entire population of the small town?

Don't ask me why but I've been hyped for this
sequel. I watched Anacondas 2 a couple of times
and it ended up becoming a guilty pleasure so
I was hoping that Anaconda 3 would do the same,
especially considering that it's got David
Hasselhoff in it. Unfortunately I doubt that
this will ever become a guilty pleasure of mine
as it's basically only a sequel in title. This
could just as well have been called "Boa 2" or
"Python 2", no one would have noticed any difference.

Those cheap-asses over at the Sci-Fi channel
didn't even send this group of people to the
jungles of Burma or Indonesia, they just sent
them to Romania where the movies are cheap and
the locals are eager to act for free. So anyway,
I guess the movie is supposed to look like it
was shot in the US (but it's quite obvious that
it wasn't) where a laboratory is working on
perfecting the formula from the blood orchid
(from Anacondas 2). However, to do so they
apparently have to have a gigantic anaconda in
a glass cage. Naturally the anaconda escapes
and soon enough all hell breaks loose. Oh and
did I mention that this time the anaconda has
mutated and is killing people with its machete-like
tail? Jesus christ man.

Anaconda 3 is a huge let down for me who was hoping
for more fun in the vein of Anacondas: The Hunt
For The Blood Orchid but you know, it's the Sci-Fi
channel so what could you really expect? It's
obviously a low-budget production, the CGI effects
are brutally poor, the acting is mediocre, the
movie doesn't look very good and was probably
shot on 16mm (if that). In the end it should have
been a bad but fun creature feature but it wasn't,
it was far from it. It was a real snoozer. Sure
it had some gore in it but that was about it.
Not worth checking out you guys, it's sad that
they ruined a potentially entertaining franchise
which should've continued to go theatrically.

Impalements, decapitations, heads bitten off,
some guts, severed limbs, actually it's quite
gory for a Sci-Fi original but it's mostly CGI
gore which won't impress anyone.

Nothing to say here.

I thought I was headed in to see Anaconda 3, not
Razortooth 3! This was low budget, uninteresting,
poorly written and rushed. Certainly not the
entertaining sequel that I was expecting. I doubt
that Anacondas 4 will be much better either. For
shame Sci-Fi channel, for shame.
