A couple of people go to Borneo to find the blood
orchid which is supposed to be the key to eternal
youth. Well, nature is not very kind to them,
their boat goes over a waterfall and is destroyed
leaving the exhibition crew stranded in the
jungle. Well, they're not alone, in fact they're
not alone at all. See they have just entered the
Anacondas mating place and these Anacondas are
dead hungry for anything they can put their teeth in.

I can't say that I was a big fan of the first
Anaconda movie and the idea of yet another one did
not exactly make me feel filled with joy. Well I
think that Anacondas 2 is a very worthy sequel and
action wise it's much more entertaining as well.
The whole idea of an orchid being the key to
eternal youth seems pretty ludicrous and the story
isn't exactly deep either, people search for flower,
flower is hard to find so snake shows up to eat
people. Personally I was quite chocked to see this
in theatres since it to me looks like any other
DTV cgi-monster horror flick (though the snakes
look really good) but it's still not that bad.

The directing is actually not that good. I had
expected more jumps and more explosive scenes.
That waterfall scene could have been so excellent
if it would've been directed a bit more clever
oh and by the way, WHY do they hang onto the boat?
Wouldn't it be smarter just to jump? Ah what do
I know, I've never been in a waterfall accident.
The acting is quite average, nothing special at
all. It's a good thing that KaDee and Johnny pulls this
movie up a notch as they are clearly better than the rest.
There is little characterisation and it's also
fairly obvious who's going to die next and such.

So what's good about it? Well, it is really
entertaining, as soon as it gets going that is.
I mean, we don't even get to see snake until
50 minutes into the film. Luckily the first 50
minutes went fairly fast anyway. The story is
pretty predictable which is pretty nice for a
change, instead of having to think you can just
sit back and relax and enjoy the movie. The bad
thing is that the movie does get rather slow
every now and then and the ending was not of my
preference at all. Still, Anacondas 2 is a pretty
entertaining movie and I will definitely want to
see an Anacondas 3. Give this one a shot, it's
not all that bad.

I'm sorry to say that the only gore that we get
in this movie is a snake decapitation. These
bastards had huge teeth so one would think that
they could at least have spent some money on gore
effects, but I guess it's PG-13 right?

Wait. Hang on. There was actually a soundtrack
in this? All I could hear was screaming and
a couple of sound effects and some of that
classic Jaws music in the most suspenseful scenes.

I'm guessing this will score plenty of awful
reviews but I don't care. Take it for what it is;
a cgi-monster movie, they just don't tend to get
much better than this so I think that this was
just about as good as this movie could get. What
were you expecting from a movie like Anacondas 2?
It's not The Ring or The Sixth Sense, it's just
a movie about giant anacondas eating people.
