"The story is so incoherent that it almost becomes unbearable"

Four friends are playing a game of Geohunt when they're
lured into a trap. Soon enough they find themselves
running from two serial killers. Will they be able
to finish the game before their number is up?

No, this is not a sequel to the DTV Saw rip-off that
was released a couple of years back, it's just a
low-budget horror flick with a similar concept retitled
by Lions Gate to sell more copies. Why? Was the
first one really that successful? It wasn't very
good anyway, that's for sure. Not that this so-called
sequel is any better. Tracked (as it's originally
called) is a cheap-ass slasher flick which would make
a great addition to the Brain Damage catalogue but
was for some reason picked up by Lions Gate. I'm
not really sure what the movie was about but it
quickly became apparent to me that this was a rookie
project - probably not even meant for wide distribution.

Are You Scared 2 tells the story of four teens who
are addicted to a game called Geohunt. I'm not quite
sure what the object of the game was but as far as
I could understand you basically had to find hidden
objects with the help from a GPS. Doesn't seem very
hard to me but apparently it's a very difficult game
that takes a lot of talent. Anyway, for their ultimate
task, the friends have to enter a seemingly abandoned
building. What they have to do inside the building
is still unknown to me but either way their drugged
and trapped inside the building with two serial
killers. One masked and one unmasked. After that it's
all a big mess to be honest with you. I don't know
what these guys were thinking. Coherency obviously
was never a word that popped up in these guys minds.

While the "predecessor" had a rather high budget,
Are You Scared 2 looks like it had awful production
values (and yet iMDB states that it costs $750,000
to make... well I don't buy it, more like $50,000
unless they spent $700,000 on hookers and drugs...
or maybe it went to renting that giraffe that walks
around in the background every now and then - wtf
was up with that anyway). The directing is nothing
to brag about nor is the acting. Even the usually
brilliant Tony Todd sleepwalks through the movie.
Yes, he actually has a rather big part in the movie
but he seems bored with his character for most of
the time and I can't blame him. It seems as if his
scenes were all shot in one day since he only gets
to sit in a room and mutter random things.

You know, every once in a while it's fun to sit
through a campy Lions Gate DTV horror release but
this was not one of those times. This really was
a waste of time if you ask me and it had very little
in common with the movie that it's supposed to be a
sequel for. There's nothing Saw-like about this
at all. Boring rubbish, skip it.

An impalement and some minor blood splatter.

Rubbish.

I don't think it's a surprise to anyone that this
turned out to be a total waste of time. It's nothing
like "Are You Scared" and the story is so incoherent
that it almost becomes unbearable. Definitely a
difficult movie to stay awake through.
