A young couple moves into their dream house with their
newborn baby and it seems as if life just couldn't get
any better. But after only a night they start hearing
strange noises on the baby-caller, and soon Juan starts
seeing a mysterious man inside the house. His wife
doesn't seem to believe him but he is certain that a
man is out to get their baby. To make things worse, it
seems as if that man is an evil ghost...

THIS WAS FUCKING BRILLIANT!! Sorry, I had to get that
out of my system. After having seen two mediocre
movies from this anthology, Alex de la Iglesia brings
us this horrifyingly scary haunted house movie which
had me biting my nails until the very end. Oh, it's
not just an ordinary haunted house movie even though
it was probably inspired by The Grudge, it goes so
much further than your normal haunted house movie; it's
disturbing, it's scary as hell, it's got a refreshing
story and it's actually realistic.

The plot may sound generic but it's really not, let me
try to describe it in a way so that you get just how
clever it is. Juan moves into a big house together
with his wife and child but soon he starts to see a
dark man on the baby-monitor - and let me tell you,
I screamed like a girl every time that man appeared
on screen, creepy as hell. Anyway, so he gets all
this security equipment to make sure no one can get
into the house, but his wife doesn't believe him.
One day he freaks out and accidentally attacks his
wife with a knife, this is not really appreciated so
she decides to go live with her parents for a while.
Juan's life gets more and more screwed up by the
hour and he starts to wonder whether this is really
happening or if he's going insane. This is also the
question that the viewers will ask themselves.

You quickly connect with the couple as they're very
relatable, so the fact that the scares start five
minutes into the movie was actually a great move.
The fact that you also don't know a whole lot about
Juan leads you to wonder just how sane he is. As
soon as the scares begin, there's not a moment of
calmness to be found, you really are on the edge of
your seat until the brilliant ending.

Alex de la Iglesia directs this movie flawlessly, and
the scene where Juan walks around with the baby-monitor
will go to history as one of the scariest moments ever.
But you know what? I'm going to stop right there
because I'm sure I've convinced you by now that this
is a movie worth checking out and that's the whole
point. This is an incredibly creepy movie with a great
story to go to it so for crying out loud, do not
miss this one!

Nothing here.

Awesome suspense score with creepy noises and subtle
background music. It really did the trick.

Absolutely terrifying horror flick from the director
who brought us "The Day Of The Beast". This movie
will put you on the edge of your seat after five
minutes and keep you there until the very ending, it
just never lets up. A great movie to watch together
with friends or alone on a rainy night, don't miss!
