Two paramedics drive out to the middle of nowhere to
help a woman who's having trouble breathing, only to
get kidnapped by a cult. They believe that fire will
rain down on the earth, resulting in the end of life
as we know it and that there's a planet on the other
side of the universe where they can get a brand new
start. How they get there? Mass suicide.

Raw Feed's last movie "Sublime" was, in my opinion,
just awful so I was a bit sceptical towards Believers
as the plots sounded somewhat similar. And as it
turns out, they are indeed somewhat similar, but
contrary to Sublime, Believers is actually frightening.
Not in a horror movie way but on a psychological
level. Calling Believers a horror flick really is a
bit of a stretch and I'm not sure why Raw Feed keeps
producing thrillers rather than horror flicks as that's
what the label was intended to produce. Anyhow, what's
scary about Believers is that it actually brainwashes
its audience to believe in the cult. Had I been
kidnapped by the cult I would probably have joined
it as they were so good at brainwashing people that
they even managed to do it through the screen.

David works as a paramedic and has just received the
happy news that he's going to get a son. On the same
day, he and his colleague Victor gets a call from a
gas station where a woman is having trouble breathing.
It turns out that she and her daughter have escaped
from a cult and David and Vic end up being kidnapped
themselves. The cult tries to brainwash them but are
unsuccessful at that. However, as time goes by,
Victor starts to realize that maybe there's some
truth behind what they're saying. David is still a
complete sceptic though and tries his best to escape.
But could the cult be telling the truth? Or are they
all just crazy suicidal maniacs?

Daniel Myrick, the director of Blair Witch Project,
has finally returned to prove to us that he CAN make
a competent horror movie. I've always thought that
The Blair Witch Project was just a result of some
bored teens trying to make a couple of bucks but I
now realize that Myrick is indeed a very talented
director. Meanwhile, Johnny Messner pulls off an
incredibly strong performance and all the characters
are very believable. In other words, I have nothing
negative to say about this movie other than the fact
that I wish that it had been more of a horror flick
than it was. I'm not huge on psychological thrillers.

Still, Believers is undoubtedly the best movie that
Raw Feed has produced so far and probably one of the
best movies of the year. It's very suspenseful and
the plot is so engaging and interesting that you
don't want the movie to end. In fact, I was a little
disappointed when the movie ended as I still had so
many questions that I wanted answered. Sure enough,
it was probably a good idea not to answer all of the
questions but you still can't help but to wonder what
happened next... I don't dare to say more.

Ultimately, Believers is a movie that will get under
your skin and stay there for some time. It's truly
terrifying and haunting to see just how easy it is
to brainwash people - and they've done an excellent
job in portraying this. If you're expecting a lot of
scares or - as the cover may imply - aliens, you will
be disappointed. But if you're looking for a creepy
psychological thriller, this is a great movie. This
should have gotten a theatrical release if you ask me.

Nothing here.

There wasn't a whole lot of music to be found in here
but the score did the trick and created a creepy
ambience that suited the movie well.

Raw Feed's best movie to date - even if it's technically
not a horror movie. It's a terrifying view into the
minds of very disturbed people - or extremely clever
people. And believe me, you will be a believer after
watching this movie.
