A submarine rescues three survivors from a ship. It's World
War II and the submarine is forced to dive as they are being
attacked by Germans... or so they think. But what is it really
that is trying to kill them? Scaring them half to death, making
weird sounds outside and turning everyone against eachother?
It looks as if they've got a bigger problem than
Germans attacking them.

There came a day when Hollywood finally managed to create
an original, frightening horror movie. Unfortunately, the
company releasing this film decided to change the number of
screens that it should be shown on in the last week, removing
about 2000 screens from the list, leaving it with a very limited
release and almost no promotion at all. Below is an
astonishing film and if I didn't hate Dimension Films for
bringing us the terrible Scream movies, I hate them now. They
have to be incredibly stupid to release this as a limited feature
as this could probably have rolled in at least 60 million dollars
at the box office if it had only gotten more promotion and a
wider opening. When this finally comes to DVD people will most
likely think that it's a DTV movie, and they will avoid renting it.
Shame on you Dimension.

Director David Twohy has become one of my favourite directors
in very short time. He showed us in Pitch Black that he was
here to stay and Below has, in my opinion, even better
directing. The atmosphere is high and there are some
incredibly intense scenes. The cast is 96% male, only one
female casted in this movie. All of the actors are
excellent and there are a few faces to recognize. For me, it
was surprising to see that Jason Flemyng managed to be in
two WWII horror movies in only two years time, I mean, how
often do these films get made really? If you're wondering what
movie I'm talking about, it's the terrible movie The Bunker.

Below is an incredibly suspenseful film and I just loved it.
It was as if they had done the usual submarine concept and
just thrown in suspense and frights everywhere. We never
actually know that there are ghosts on the ship, but we
definitely get that haunting feeling. This movie is actually so
scary that my eyes teared up in one scene because it
was too suspenseful but you can't stop watching it.

I think that the weirdest thing is that I had very high
expectations for this film, and we all know that that is not
a good thing to get. But I heard about this movie about a
year before its release and got interested right away. Still,
this managed to live up to my expectations and it
was even a lot better than I could ever have imagined.
You won't believe how mad I was when I heard that it was
only getting a limited cinema release. This is one of my all
time favourites and I will definitely watch this a few
more times before I lay it to rest.

Nothing much, some burnt bodies and some corpses.

As I said, this tries to stay very close to the average
submarine action film so the soundtrack is about the
same as you heard in all these movies. But, it also has
some incredibly powerful and atmospheric music that many
movies miss. The soundtrack helps the movie a lot
and is always very intense.

If you haven't seen this yet, you should. This is one
that I can almost guarantee that you will love. One of my
all time favourite US horror movies. If you liked U-571 and if
you like ghost movies, this is the one for you. I didn't like
U-571 and still, I loved this movie, so whether you're into
this kind of movie or not, I still highly advice you to
see this. BUY THIS NOW!
