After consulting with several doctors, Isabella's
parents come to the conclusion that their daughter
must be possessed by the devil. Together with two
priests, they decide to perform an exorcism on her,
but it's not so easy when the demon does whatever it
can to turn the family against each other. Will this
be a successful exorcism, or will they all end up
swallowed by rage?

Great. Just great. Who of you thought that we needed
yet another exorcism movie about a horny demon with a
darth vader voice possessing a young girl, raise your
hand. No one? Exactly. Blackwater Valley Exorcism is
a complete cash-in on "The Exorcism Of Emily Rose".
What? Are Lions Gate copying The Asylum's successful
concept to make low budget versions of theatrical
movies now? Well, at least The Asylum's movies have
some cheesy entertainment value to them. This movie
didn't even have that. This was just a tired rehash
of a concept that, in my opinion, should have died
back in the 70's.

For those of you who are unfamiliar with the story,
Blackwater Valley Exorcism revolves around a young
girl named Isabella who's been possessed by a demon.
Naturally, performing an exorcism on her isn't all
that easy since the demon uses people's darkest
secrets to turn them against each other (and this
family has got stacks of them). The movie doesn't add
anything new to the table and doesn't even bother
to give us the back-story of how Isabella actually
got possessed. From the first to the last scene,
Isabella is simply possessed, no explanation, no
nothing, we're just supposed to accept this (the
family sure buys into the whole possessed story
rather quickly).

I have to give it to the guys at Barnholtz Entertainment
though. While most of their movies are worthless piece
of... well you know where this is going, at least their
movies always look technically professional. The
cinematography is great and I loved the colour-setting
of the movie, the directing is competent enough, and
the acting is... well, let's not get into that part.
Ultimately, if you enjoyed movies like "Exorcism:
The Possession Of Gale Bowers" and "Exorcist: The
Beginning", you might find this to be more entertaining
than I did. I just think that the whole exorcist
concept has been done to death and that there are no
new angles to approach it. Hell, this one didn't even
bother trying.

Eh, nothing worth mentioning.

The score was great... had it only been for a Disney
channel film. Sure, it sounds great, but it doesn't
fit in at all.

Visually and technically, this movie impressed me. Too
bad that everything else about it was dull, uncreative
and generic. Unless you're a big fan of exorcism
horror flicks, I suggest you stay as far away from
this DTV flick as you can.
