Rayne has just
arrived in the wild west where a group
of vampires are taking over the small town of Deliverance
in hopes of expanding their clan. Billy the Kid is the
mastermind behind it all and it seems as if he's going
to be Rayne's biggest competition so Rayne decides to
get a posse of low-life scumbags to fight by her side.

Rayne with a scumbag posse? Well, I don't know. The
first Bloodrayne was mediocre entertainment for me,
it wasn't good but it was enjoyable while it lasted.
This sequel is not. Bloodrayne 2 basically makes the
same mistakes that the first movie made only with less
action, no nudity, close to no gore (wait, why is there
an Unrated edition and an R-rated edition of this out?)
and with a much slower pace. Then there's the fact
that I always hate it when they replace actors for
the same characters in movies and tv-series, and
Natassia Malthe really does feel like the less
exclusive version of Kristanna Loken. But they do have
one thing in common; both of them have had their
careers smashed to pieces by this sad franchise.
Bloodrayne 2 starts out quite promisingly with some
nice scenery and an intriguing, if a bit confusing,
story, but it doesn't take long for you to figure out
how they managed to get this one finished so quickly.
The ridiculously thin story follows Rayne, who's now
in the wild west, trying to save children from the
evil vampire Billy The Kid (oh come on!). To be able
to do this she gathers a bunch of criminals and thugs
to help her defeat the vampire clan that's been taking
over the small town of Deliverance. That's the story,
nothing really happens for the first hour of the movie
and you couldn't be less interested. Then when things
finally do start to happen, it seems as if Uwe Boll
has ran out of cheap tricks as the action scenes are
dull and uninspired. But at this point I didn't even
give a damn anymore.
Since BloodRayne 2 has so much in common with the first
film when it comes to flaws, I'm going to skip the
obvious ones that I all ready mentioned in my review
for BloodRayne and just head onto the all new flaws
that I mentioned earlier in my review. First there's
the extremely dull action scenes that include close
to no gore at all. Rayne doesn't even utilize her cool
sickles unless she's lost her guns. And as for the
nudity, Uwe usually knows how to throw in an awkward
sex scene somewhere in the movie but the only sex
scene we got in here was off-screen. And guess what.
It was still VERY awkward! I raised an eyebrow in
astonishment as to how corny that scene was. When, and
if, you see this movie, you will know what scene I'm
talking about. Believe you me.
I don't want to spend too much time with reviewing a
DTV sequel to a catastrophic box-office flop so I'm
going to sum it up right here. BloodRayne 2 is a corny
western flick with a couple of vampires thrown into
the mix. No real amount of time or effort seemed to
have been put into this project and I'm amazed that
IMDb lists its budget as 6,5 million dollars. That's
just not plausible. It's not all bad I guess but for
most of the time, this was quite poor. Don't waste
your time unless you were a huge fan of the first flick.

Unrated? Err, there wasn't much to rate to be honest
with you. A slit throat, some bloody gun shots.

I wanted to kill myself at the end of this film simply
because they recycled the same music loop over and
over and over and over again. Painful.

Not even nearly as entertaining as the first movie,
which still wasn't all that good (but best Uwe Boll
flick to date in my opinion). Boll has improved in
some departments I guess but for a multi-million
dollar project, this looked awfully low-budget to me.
Anyway, slow-paced, dry and anything but sexy. NEXT!
