Man with girlfriend comes to Greek island to find his sister.
He finds her, but also a legendary sea-monster which is
killing off female swimmers in the water.

OK but very forgettable sea-monster flick with little going
for it. Like many of these kind of movies, it tries hard to
cover up that it's just about a monster, by coming up with
some complex mythology about it and throwing in some oddball
characters but it doesn't work as the film is cheesy and
corny.
And in like movies of this kind, it tries to be above the
rest by casting talented veterans. Here we have James Earl
Jones (voice of Darth Vader) as some goof trying to catch
the monster, José Ferrer as a stubborn old Greek and Lila
Kedrova as a crazy nun. These are all very good actors but
there's not much they can do with their goofy characters.
When it comes to the special effects don't count on any
high-tech stuff. The rarely seen monster look like a
laughably ugly puppet that have spent too many years in
someone's basement. Also this lacks gore, the few victims
never get a chance for a real death scene, they're mostly
just dragged underwater.
Still, this is a pretty entertaining film. It doesn't have
much to offer, except for 1˝ hours brain-relaxing. The
Greek locations look beautiful and the cast is surprisingly
good for this kind of film. And for those who get bored
there are one or two good-looking bikini babes and Martin
Kove (the villain from the Karate Kid movies) who spends
most screen time with no or little clothes for the ladies.

Nope.

A score which sounds like it was made in a couple of hours
just to give the film a score.

Forgettable but pretty entertaining sea-monster flick with
a good cast and nice Greek locations. Pointless mythology
and awful special effects drags it down heavily though.
