Nathan has a big crush on hid friend Jessica but
he's having a hard time telling her how he really
feels about her. When he one day sees her with
another guy, he can't bare it and hangs himself,
something which his mother isn't too fond of.
Lucky for her, she recently found a voodoo spell
which brings people back to life, what she doesn't
know is that the spell will also turn the person
into a zombie rather than to a living person.

When you start watching a movie with a title like
Boy Eats Girl, you just know it's going to be bad.
And when you then see teenage r'n'b star Samantha
Mumba posing on the cover, the warning lights inside
your head start to blink madly. Either way, I did
love british zombie comedy "Shaun Of The Dead" so
I figured that I might as well give this one a shot
as well. What I got was basically a very dull and
very brainless teen version of Shaun Of The Dead.
It's obvious that Ireland wanted to ride on its
wave of success, sadly, this is far from as good
as the movie that it's copying.

The movie starts out by introducing us to its
cardboard characters. Considering the title though,
I think this was intended. As soon as we have seen
all the important faces in the movie the jokes
start hitting and oh my god, who actually has a
sense of humor this bad? If you find the word booger
funny, then you're probably immature enough to find
this amusing at some level but this was just too
stupid for me. Do the scriptwriters actually think
that these are the kind of things that teens today
find funny? To give you an example of just how
ridiculously bad the humour is in this movie, one
of the key jokes in the movie involves a guy blowing
his nose with a pair of panties. Is that a new low
for teen comedies or what?

As you can probably tell, this fails miserably as
a comedy in my eyes. However, once the zombie
infection starts spreading (and man does it spread
fast or what?), it actually gets a whole lot
better. If they would have made it a pure teen
zombie flick, then this would have been so much
better, the comedy aspect of the movie completely
destroys it. I mean, we actually get a whole lot
of gore, the zombies look awesome and the special
effects are to die for. Ultimately, I can not
recommend this movie, simply due to the fact that
the dialogues and jokes are ridiculous. However,
if you have a mute button and if you are ready to
use it, then this is definitely something you should
check out, especially if you, like me, still
haven't gotten enough of teen horror flicks.

This is a big bloodbath, I don't even know where
to start. We get a finger bit off, lots of severed
arms and legs and other body parts, guts being
torn out, a scissors impalement through ones hand,
a pipe through ones eye, bodies being split in half,
gory beheadings and a whole lot more!

The terrible teen rock band who seems to have made
every track in this movie is another downside to
this potential-filled movie.

Boy Eats Girl shamelessly tries to be this years
Shaun Of The Dead. Unfortunately it fails badly at
that with horrible jokes and ridiculous dialogues.
As a pure zombie movie however, this is pretty
good with lots of gore and a pretty cool concept.
It's such a shame that they had to turn it into
a comedy because this would have worked better
without the humour in it.
