"I wouldn't wish this awful movie upon my worst enemy"

After Misato has undergone surgery to remove a
facial scar she takes a hike back home together
with her sister, Yayoi. After getting into a small
dispute, they end up finding a human skeleton. It
doesn't take long before strange things start to
happen around Yayoi, and Misato is starting to act
very strange. What's really going on?

It gets worse. It actually gets worse. I wasn't a
big fan of Carved or its sequel (which was by the
way a prequel) but this third movie is just terrible,
and what's worse is that it makes no sense at all.
It doesn't seem to be connected at all to the first
two movies so I have no idea why this is called
"The Beginning" - especially considering that the
2nd movie was a prequel. If you ask me, it's just
another story about the slit-mouthed woman, and she
isn't even in focus this time around.

Heading into this I was expecting a pretty lousy
movie seeing as how they completely stole their
poster from "A Tale Of Two Sisters" but I had no
idea just how bad this would turn out to be.
Carved 3 brings us back to the days when everyone
was still trying to copy "The Ring" but not only
does this movie blatantly rip off Ringu (warped
pictures, scream to freeze frame, creepy eye), it
also borrows heavily from Kaïro (Pulse) and Ju-On
(The Grudge). It does not borrow from the remakes
but instead steals from the originals - which
I guess should be a good thing only it's not because
it almost felt like the movie ridiculed the movies
that it was copying.

The story is very messy and incoherent and it's
easy to tell that they scripted this movie in a
very short time-frame. It was released only a
few weeks after Carved 2 had been released. Once
again we're stuck with a really tame plot where
nothing really happens until the final ten minutes.
Unfortunately, the pay-off is even worse than the
tame plot this time around. The movie also looks
like it was shot on a much lower budget than the
previous movies. I tell you, I can't find one
redeeming quality about this pathetic excuse for
a ghost story.

Carved 3 looks like it was shot in the 90s for TV.
It does not look like a new horror flick. I have
serious doubts whether or not this movie is
actually officially connected to the previous two
Carved movies but according to all of my sources,
it is indeed. Whether or not this sequel is legit
doesn't matter though as it is an absolutely
horrendous movie to be avoided by everyone. Even
fans of the urban legend. Stay far away from this
pile of junk, people.

We get some guts, a hand chopped off and some blood
splatter. I was not impressed.

Cheap. Didn't spend too much energy focusing on the
crappy soundtrack. Again, did not impress.

Carved 3, or A Slit Mouthed Woman 0: The Beginning,
is a great way to end a lousy franchise since this
is the absolute worst out of the three. They didn't
even seem to have tried with this one. I wouldn't
wish this awful movie upon my worst enemy so please
don't waste your time with this one.
