A group of friends head into some caves for a
weekend of wild adventurous fun. What they don't
know is that the caves are inhabited by oversized
flesh eating centipedes. Will anyone be able to
get out alive or will they all end up dead?

Another relatively bad creature feature which will
now be collecting dust on my DVD shelf. Centipede
is one of the dullest creature features I have seen
for some time. Nu Image's creature features might
be bad, but at least they are eventful for most of
the time but Centipede is just very cheap and slow
moving. The reason for this is probably because
all of the characters are too shallow, we never get
to like a single one of them.

Since the movie is incredibly low budget, they didn't
use CGI-effects to make the centipedes, but for once
I actually wish that they had as the creatures look
like big cheap plastic toys. I also "loved" how there
were lots of unknown light sources inside the caves.
That's were "The Descent" succeeded and this one
failed because while we really got the feeling that
the girls were inside a cave in "The Descent", we
never even get the feeling of that these people are
actually inside a cave, it just looks like a film
studio to me.

The directing is all right but nothing too impressive,
same goes for the acting. However, seeing as how
these actors never really got any special
characterizations, they probably do a pretty good job.
Either way, Centipede is a very slow and dull movie
and even if things happen every now and then that try
to keep your interest, you're still not very
interested. If you feel like watching a creature
feature, this should not be your first choice.

Nothing worth mentioning.

We get some instrumental pop music which is all
right I guess and the atmospheric score works
pretty well as well, even though the movie itself
completely lacks in atmosphere.

An impressively dull creature feature about giant
killer centipedes. This is not your typical creature
feature as it is very low budget and the creatures
aren't made in CGI. Avoid this one and rent
something else instead.
