Someone is killing off the students at a high school and
is targeting the virgins. Jody, the sheriff’s daughter
hasn't lost her virginity yet and when the killer starts
going after her, she starts to wonder if maybe it would
be better for her to lose it as soon as possible. Meanwhile,
this seems to be the exact same thought running through
every other students mind but will an orgy really help?

Cherry Falls is one of those high budget slashers that
never got the chance to show up at theatres since it was
made too late. Or at least, that's my theory. This movie
actually had almost the exact same budget that Scream
did and they sent this one of to TV. I wonder why.
Cherry Falls is just as good as the other popular Scream
clones and it's tragic that this didn't even get a real
chance to show it. I mean, the DVD that this was released
on was even a double feature! It didn't even get its own
DVD release, that's just wrong.

The story is actually fairly original for a slasher flick
and the black humour in it is hilarious and fits the
movie very well. This is definitely a movie with charm.
Brittany Murphy is pretty good in the starring scream
queen role but you can tell that she wasn't completely
comfortable with starring in a slasher flick. Just like
in Scream 2 we also have a few people with smaller parts
who later starred in less famous slasher flicks. For
example, there's Kristen Miller from The Pool (which I
also really enjoyed) and there's Michael Weston from
Wishcraft (which I absolutely loved).

With a very entertaining story and a pretty strong cast
this is all ready a great flick but what I loved the
most about this flick was the directing. We get some
great angles and some very original camerawork. What I'm
trying to say is that Cherry Falls is not a slasher
to be missed. It is entertaining, it's fast paced, it's
relatively unpredictable and it's hilarious (not in a
bad way though). If you still haven't seen this awesome
slasher flick, don't wait any longer!

There have been many rumours about an uncut version of
this flick and I do believe there is one, somewhere out
there since it really does seem as if most of the gore
has been cut out. In the US DVD version however we have
to satisfy with a whole lot of blood splatter, a severed
hand and an impalement on a fence.

Originality strikes again! The drum'n'bass music is
brilliant and adds to the fast pace of the movie. The
suspense score is also averagely good.

Highly entertaining slasher flick which never got the
attention that it deserved. I would have love seeing this
in theatres (it did actually run in theatres in most
European and Asian countries) but what can you do. Either
way, I highly recommend this slasher flick as it has got
everything a slasher fan can crave.
