Medical students are terrified of the weird things that have been
happening in their school basement lately and starts suspecting
that the school is haunted. As the students start dropping dead, the
fear and paranoia among the students gets worse and worse.

No, this is not Wes Craven's Scream. I came across this title while
browsing through some Asian horrorfilms and thought it looked interesting
enough. This is one of four of KBS TV horror series. It's annoying
how the KBS logo pops up every now and then on the DVD, just to show
us that it was originally made for TV. Since it's a TV series, it's only
about 50 minutes long and resembles a lot to the movie "A Frightful School
Killer" which has the same concept. Scream was actually quite good
but I didn't feel that it brought any originality to Asian horrorfilm,
it was pretty much the black-haired ghost girl story all over again.

The directing is good and the picture is crystal clear, but the director
Lee Gyu Hwan didn't seem to be able to remove that TV movie feeling so
it really felt just as if you were watching a program on Japanese satellite.
The acting is pretty much average aswell, too many faces and too short
time to get to know everyone though.

After having watched this I will probably check out the other City
Horror movies aswell, but I just wish that they could remove those
annoying pop-ups from the DVD editions. There is nothing very creepy
in this movie and the suspense never seems to be able to reach a climax
so there are a couple of things going against the movie. I don't know,
maybe it was just too many teens in it for me, it felt more like a
teen slasher than a creepy ghost movie, but I guess there is a reason
why they call it City Horror, being the up to date movie that it is.

No gore except some very non-gory intestines.

Nothing too memorable, pretty standard.

An average horrormovie that could probably have been a lot better if
it had a longer running time than 48 minutes. It's worth checking out
if you're into Asian ghost movies, but make sure you don't have to
pay more than 10 dollars for it as it feels as if you have recorded it
right of the TV since there are KBS advertisements popping up here and
there. I thought it was pretty cool but tried to be too hip by having
annoying cell phones ringing all the time and with a student that has
an unrealistically clean, white car.
