When Rebecca moves
to Collingswood to study, her boyfriend, John,
gives her a webcam so that they can interact with eachother on the
net. It's Rebecca's birthday and John decides to give her the phone
number for an online psychic... But when the psychic starts telling
them all kinds of morbid things about the house that Rebecca has
moved into, they fear that the psychic might not be phoney after all.

Can anyone say Blair Witch Project? Well I can't! While having the
same feeling to it as BWP, this had something going for it aswell.
Blair Witch was a movie that should be buried and be forgotten,
but this movie actually frightened me. After the first 50 minutes
I was still like, ummm, is this going anywhere? Well it took 5
more minutes and things started to happen. From being slow and
Non-scary, this went to high paced ultra scary! I love ghost movies
that try to freak you out, and this was one of them.
The entire movie
is shot to look like it was made with webcam's
so I can't really comment on the directing, although, it did really
look as if it was shot with webcam’s (even though they were very
good quality for being cam’s, we all know how bad they can get…
well, perhaps not the psychics). The acting is good from everyone, but
certainly nothing breathtaking. Stephanie Dees does play the
part as Rebecca very well, while Johnny Burton gives a somewhat
less inspired performance.
This is another
one of those movies, which deserved a cinema
release. This is almost as good as the independent horror film
Hardcore Poisoned Eyes, I don't know why it remembered me of
that movie. The Collingswood Story has more things in common with
the movie St. Francisville Experiment than with Blair Witch really.
I received a note from the director of this movie, saying that I
should watch it in a darkened room with the lights off. And so I
did... and I think it helped a lot for this movie, so I suggest that
you do the same.

Nah, not so much, only a bloody face. It's rated PG-13 so you
can't really expect a lot.

We get a deep bass through out the entire movie almost, which
resembles a lot to the way they used the bass in My Little Eye.
There's also some pling plongy music that the psychic uses as
background music in her presentation. Then we get some rock and
pop music played silently in the background, nothing that you really
take notice off. There's one thing I can't get past though, this
didn't have Digital Surround Sound 5.1, and that kept bugging me,
I know, I know, it's a low budget movie, but still...

I watched this with an open mind, and I actually thought that I
would be in for a nice surprise since I head read so many rave
reviews for The Collingswood Story. Unfortunately, this was a very
slow movie for about 50 minutes and then took off like the devil
in an airplane. If this would have been more intense, maybe have
a higher bodycount and perhaps some more actors to root for, I
think I would have given this five stars, but since I only really
enjoyed the end, I can't give this more than four stars (which is
still really good by the way). I suggest that you log onto the
official website (which can be found in the links section) and
order this scary little horrormovie today! Believe me, you will
not be disappointed.
