A young couple moves into a lovely house in a small
community as they want to start a family. What they
don't know is that in this community, everything is
everybody's business and if their neighbours do
something wrong or immoral, they will be punished.

Guess what folks? I really liked this one. Yes, this
was actually really, really good. Sure it's not very
original stealing a concept from several other movies
but after heaps and heaps of crappy episodes, this one
really stands out as a winner. Directed by Mary Harron
(American Psycho), Community comes out as an entertaining
thriller and could well have been a full-length
feature (I'm kind of sad that it wasn't). Everything
about this episode was quite great... except for one
major flaw; the ending. This ending didn't make any
sense at all and due to its short running time it felt
rushed and it felt as if they didn't get a chance to
explain the events of the final 10 minutes. Still,
Community impressed me, I have to confess that.

Bobby and his girlfriend have decided that they're
fed up with the big city and want to move to the
suburbs to start a family. Naturally they choose the
completely wrong neighbourhood but how are they
supposed to know that they're moving into a town
filled with psycho's? After a while they realize that
something's wrong with the town and that every move
they make is monitored and broadcasted for all of their
neighbours to watch, including what they do in their
bedroom. Granted, it does feel like a rehash of such
movies as 2001 Maniacs, Population 436, The Stepford
Wives, Invasion Of The Body Snatchers and several
other movies but it's executed quite well and there
are some really suspenseful moments to be found in here.

Had this been a feature length film meant for a theatrical
release I'm sure that it would have been a whole lot
better since there's no violence or gore to be found
in here (which I think would have helped a lot). There
are some really good scenes of public humiliation but
I just felt as if they could've been so much more
powerful. I could be wrong though, it could be the
subtlety of the movie that made it work. Either way,
Community is the best Fear Itself episode to date and
it's just a shame that they waited so long before they
showed us this because it's simply too late for this
show to redeem itself in my opinion. Either way, if
you're going to check out a Fear Itself episode, make
sure that this is the one.

Nothing.

Nothing special.

As a feature length film, Community could have been
great (even if it's not very original) but due to the
fact that some things are left unexplained, you're
not entirely pleased when the movie ends. Either way
this is by far the best Fear Itself episode to date.
