An empty ship is floating around at the New York coast,
there's no trace of any passengers aboard so the police
decides to bring it in to the harbour. Big mistake. What
they find on the ship is only dead bodies and some weird
green egg-looking things. They decide to bring the biggest
one back with them but the egg explodes as they try to
pick it up and splashes all over two of the three police
men, it only takes a couple of seconds before the two
policemen explode from the inside. Now it's up to three
people to stop these eggs before they kill anyone else...
but where are they coming from?

As I'm not huge on Italian horrormovies, I had never heard
of this cult flick before I got it in the mailbox. So,
by the look of the sleeve I immediately thought that it
would be a shameless Alien rip-off. Well I was wrong. The
eggs that I thought would contain some kind of alien
actually consisted of some strange toxic liquid which was
very cool and original. While the gore effects failed to
impress, I was very impressed by the looks of the eggs and
other special effects since they looked very realistic
despite the fact that it was made back in the early 80's.
Another thing which wasn't very impressive about this
movie was the dubbing, which made the acting feel very
stiff and forced so I can't really comment on how the
real acting was since I haven't seen the original language
version of this. The directing however is just the way
I like it. That's one thing I love about classic Italian
horrormovies, the directing is always very good and stylish.
I jumped out of my seat TWICE!
There were a couple of plot holes, which were hard to let
go off since I really despise stupid plot holes. I don't
want to ruin the movie for you so I won't mention any as
they were all near towards the end of the movie. However,
I am a sucker for old gory Italian horrormovies even if
I rarely watch them since I don't have a lot of time over
after watching the more recent flicks so I thought this
was quite a good movie and a lot better than I had expected
it to be.

We get a couple of gory corpses and a lot of exploding
guts scenes but they look a bit fake. Quite messy stuff
here though and totally satisfying for any gore hound.

The soundtrack is performed by Goblin, also responsible
for the killer soundtrack in Suspiria, and while this
score wasn't completely as satisfying as the one in
Suspiria, it was still pretty cool.

This is one of the worse Italian classic horrormovies that
I have seen in my days and still it was pretty good. The
story isn't very strong nor is the acting (dubbed that is).
But the directing keeps the movie interesting with a few
jumps here and there and many intense scenes that will
stay with you for many days.
