Two junkies find a deserted house in the middle of nowhere
where they decide to cook their new batch of meth to make
some real money. Soon they realize that they're not alone in
the house... or are they? Are the drugs driving them crazy
or is there really someone in the house, watching them?

Cookers is the kind of movie that you really want to like
but simply can't. Watching horror flicks about junkies is
always fun but there was hardly any horror in this flick.
Cookers is basically just a very slow drama about a couple
of junkies who start getting hallucinations in some big
creepy house. I've still read numerous positive reviews on
this flick though and I guess that this will entertain the
same audience that thought that The Blair Witch Project was
scary since it basically uses the same kind of paranoia to
scare us. However, I was not one of those who thought that
The Blair Witch Project was a good movie and I didn't like
this one very much either.

Perhaps you have to have tried crystal meth to enjoy this
flick because I do believe that they have managed to capture
the lives of meth addicts very well. I however haven't tried
crystal meth (call me lame or call me smart but that is not
for me). The directing is pretty good and the low budget
works well for the movie and gives it that raw look. The
acting is all right and they do really seem like they're
addicts but I sometimes felt like they overdid it a bit.

I don't have a whole lot more to say about this flick. This
is a ghost story which might be mostly entertaining for
people who have tried meth but I just found this incredibly
slow and uninteresting. I mean, the story is very simple
and could be told in only a couple of minutes but instead
they've decided to drag on with it for over one and a half
hour. If you liked Blair Witch Project, you might like this
one as well but I just found it dull and slow.

We get a cut off finger and that's all.

We get some cool drum'n bass music but the suspense score
could have been a whole lot better.

Probably entertaining for people who enjoy the occasional
meth but I just didn't find this enjoyable at all. It's
slow, dull and not suspenseful at all. I've never been a
fan of paranoia horror flicks and this one solely relies
on paranoia. If you liked The Blair Witch Project, check
it out, but I can't personally recommend it.
