A couple of rich kids enjoy themselves by playing a game
where one plays the wolf and the rest play sheep. Well,
one day, they decide to take the game to another level
and make the entire school involved. They make up a killer
and send mass emails to the entire campus. What they
don't know is that a real killer has read the email and
has decided to turn the game into reality.

Unlike most other slasher fans, I wasn't very impressed by
the trailer for "Cry_Wolf". The exaggerated marketing made
it feel as if the movie couldn't sell itself and therefore
the company had to market it as hard as they could. Well,
apparently it didn't help since the movie turned out to be
a flop at the US box-office. Well, here's a question for
Rogue Pictures; has there ever been a successful PG-13
rated slasher flick? Most slasher flicks rely, to a certain
extent, on gore. So how could a PG-13 rated slasher flick
possibly be good? Well, I guess with an entertaining and
original story, a PG-13 rated slasher flick could work.
But while Cry_Wolf desperately struggles to be original, it
fails to be entertaining.
I sat down in a theatre filled with teens, most of them
were younger than 15, and that was when I realized that
I should've waited to see this flick until it was released
on DVD. As if it wasn't pain enough to sit through this
nonsense slasher flick, I also had to listen to some of
the stupidest remarks and comments ever. I could literarily
feel my IQ sinking while sitting in my comfortable seat.
But no matter how annoying the oh-so-loud teens were, they
probably still heightened the entertainment value of the
movie as the movie was actually even more stupid than the
comments I had to listen to.
The story, which actually doesn't feel all that original
if you have seen the 2002 thriller "Taboo", is built up
around a bunch of very predictable twists. It almost
seemed as if you weren't supposed to be focusing on the
real story as much as on the twists. Either way, it didn't
help that we don't have a single character to root for in
here either. They are all a bunch of rich kids who are
spoiled to death and the one guy that we are supposed to
root for speaks in a horribly posh British accent (and
there wasn't much to like about the guy anyway to begin
with). I've personally always been somewhat of a fan of
Lindy Booth after having seen her in such movies as "Wrong
Turn" and "American Psycho 2" where she was great. It
really was a shame to see her waste her talent in this
flick where not even she can pull her character off.
This is just yet another proof of how desperate Hollywood
is getting to come up with new and original stories. Well,
if they can't do better than this, they shouldn't bother
at all. Even though I had heard bad things about this flick,
I had still expected to like this flick better than I did.
Even if the trailer isn't all that great, it still makes
the film look 10 times better than it really is. If you
really want to see it, wait for the DVD!

Ugh! PG-13!

Teen rock score, nothing original about that.

To describe Cry_wolf in one sentence, this was a tragic
waste of time and money. A bunch of predictable plot
twists doesn't make a movie good, nor entertaining. This
flick tried too hard to be original and forgot to focus
on being entertaining. This could barely even be counted
as a slasher flick.
