A couple of vampires move into the neighbourhood and
Tom, a student, accidentally find out their secret
while on his way home late one night. At first, his
friends refuse to believe him but they're about to
witness the horrible truth themselves. Will they be
able to kill all of the vampires before it's too late?

An urban vampire flick from the people behind "Hood
Of The Living Dead"? Yes, I knew what I was getting
myself into when I put this in my DVD-player. I guess
some small part of me expected it to be decent since
Image Entertainment released this one (I usually
enjoy their releases). Unfortunately, this was just
as bad as one would expect.

I'm not sure why the movie is called "The Damned" as
that usually refers to zombies, but I'm guessing it
refers to the viewer this time. There is very little
plot to be found in here - as expected. A bunch of
Latino vampires move into a rough neighbourhood. Some
thugs try to stop the vampires but end up sitting
around in the couch chatting for most of the time.
End of story.

The acting is extremely bad and there really are no
surprises to be found in this movie - except for one.
The movie actually looks pretty good technical wise.
The directing is decent and the cinematography could
have been worse. Clearly these guys must have made
some money on their previous movies since this looks
much better than "Hood Of The Living Dead".

If you think I'm going to go on and on about how bad
this movie is, you're wrong. It's an abysmal vampire
movie and most of you probably knew that just from
seeing the DVD-cover so I'm just going to leave it
at that. It's a typical urban horror flick with very
little to offer so if you want to know more about
how I feel towards this film, simply read any of my
reviews of Maverick's horror releases.

Some throat munching. Yawn.

The punk rock score is dreadful! I can't believe
someone actually has the nerves to call this music.
They should've stuck to having cheap hip hop
music in their flicks rather than this.

It's no surprise that this turned out to be a complete
waste of time - which is why the review is so short.
It's just like most urban horror movies these days;
cheap, unoriginal and without any real talent behind
it. If you enjoy these urban low-budget flicks, sure
go for this one as well, it's just like the rest of
them so there's no reason to why you shouldn't like it.
