A psychotic man has just escaped from a mental
institution and decides to start terrorizing a
single woman and her friends. Why has he chosen
her as the victim and will she be able to get
out of this situation alive?

After a long day of watching nothing but slasher
movies, Deadly Intruder is a great way to end it.
Sure, it is incredibly unoriginal but it's not
a typical Friday the 13th rip-off. Instead it's
more of a serial killer slasher where the focus
lies more on the killer than on the victims. I'm
usually not too fond of this approach but Deadly
Intruder does it in a very good way since it
still plays a bit like a slasher movie.
Most of the victims die pretty early on in the
film in, well, pretty unimpressive ways. Most of
the movie focuses on the psychotic man terrorizing
this young woman in a cat and mouse game. Cat
and mouse game movies can either be incredibly
dull or very entertaining if done correctly and
they've done a pretty good job in Deadly Intruder.
The acting isn't anything special but director
John McCauley does his best with creating
suspense anyway. The guy playing the crazy
mental patient is sadly the worst of the actors.
He doesn't really seem crazy and this sometimes
ruins the atmosphere of the movie.
Overall, Deadly Intruder is probably a hate it
or love it movie. I wouldn't say that I love it
but I still think that this is a pretty solid
movie if you're not looking for anything original.
I can see how many slasher fans were disappointed
when they saw this though seeing as how it's
not really a body count movie. If you enjoy the
occasional serial killer thriller, check it out
and you might just find yourself enjoying it.

We get an axe in the back and an eye gouged out,
nothing special here.

The synthpop music is awful and the theme melody
is a complete Halloween rip-off. This was not
a good soundtrack.

Deadly Intruder isn't your typical slasher flick
as much as a serial killer thriller. Slasher
fans might be disappointed but if you go in with
an open mind, you might come out enjoying it so
I suggest you give it a shot.
