An infected prisoner is carrying a lethal decease,
a zombie decease. Anyone who catches it turns into
a zombie within minutes. Soon enough, the decease
starts spreading inside the jail where the prisoner
is being held and there seems to be no way out of
this nightmare, not even for the aggressive cops.

"Aaah! bam bam! fuck you! bam bam! we've got to get
out of here! aaah! bam bam!" is a better plot
description of this zombie flick. What starts out
as a potentially good zombie movie, soon turns
into a repetitive and dull action flick in the
vein of House of The Dead. The first 15-20 minutes
or so provides us with a rather entertaining plot
but once people start turning into zombies, the
plot gets lost and we get to witness lots of "cool",
action scenes with shotguns that never run out of
ammo and guns that sound like toys. Maybe this was
originally entitled House Of The Dead 2? They sure
have a whole lot in common.
As usual with The Asylum productions, the budget
does look like it was quite high. The photography
is beautiful and the directing is very slick. The
acting however is a mixed bag and the fact that
there's no person to really root for doesn't
exactly help either. I mean zombie movies are
allowed to be repetitive to a certain extent, but
come on, this was ridiculous. The one person which
we are supposed to root for, Samantha Beckett (a
chick with horribly dyed hair, talk about bad roots)
is more of an annoying obstacle for us to overlook
rather than a person which we can feel connected with.
I can understand how some zombie fans enjoyed this
movie. It did have a whole lot of zombie gore with
intestines ripped out and arms being pulled off.
I, myself, however need a little more than just a
bunch of living dead people running around eating
people. This movie simply didn't have a story
strong enough for me and it really just got too
dull too quickly. If you like zombie flicks, you
might want to give this one a go, but if you're
a little more picky when it comes to zombie movies,
like I am, don't bother.

Lots of zombie gore with intestines and dismembered
arms. If you like gore, it will not disappoint you.

I've never really liked death metal as most of you
know so I didn't really like the score for this
movie either. But this is a taste issue.

When it comes to zombie movies, I'm rarely easily
impressed. Dead Men Walking did not manage to
impress me on any level. To me, this was almost as
bad as "House of The Dead". There was very little
story and I really just got tired of watching the
same thing over and over again after a while. Might
please the die-hard zombie fans, but it sure as
hell didn't please me.
