Committing suicide has become increasingly common
recently in Hong Kong (I think it's supposed to
take place in Hong Kong anyway) and the police
don't really find anything odd about it. Susan
and Fanny are good friends and work together in
a small store and when Fanny commits suicide,
Susan is certain that something's not right and
decides to find out the truth about what really
happened to her friend.

Death Melody's opening scene takes place in a
concert hall where a girl is getting ready to
play the piano. As soon as she starts, the
entire audience starts to cry. The tears soon
turn into blood and when the girl is done
playing, everyone in the concert hall drops dead,
including herself. So I'm thinking to myself,
with an opening scene like this, how can I go
wrong? Well, apparently, the title of the movie
only refers to the opening scene as the rest of
the movie is an incredibly dull drama thriller
where three friends try to find out the reason
to why people are committing suicide as of lately.

Naturally, they find some way to tie it all
together to the opening scene in the end but
between that, we are left with a ridiculous and
unnecessary plot which we really could've done
without since the story is anything but original.
I have to say, I feel a bit ripped off because
the DVD cover shows you a creepy ghost girl with
white eyes so basically, both the title and the
cover is a big lie.

Unless you feel like sitting through a 90 minutes
long drama thriller, I suggest that you stay away
from Death Melody. Even if you do enjoy drama
thrillers, you could still do a whole lot better
than this as the story isn't very interesting
and I really had to struggle towards the ending
to stay awake. I guess most of you know by now
that most horror movies from Hong Kong are pretty
bad though so you probably don't have any interest
in seeing this movie anyway.

Some ketchup and a bad impalement.

Nothing special here. Not even the piano music
in the opening scene is good and I usually love
piano music in horror flicks.

The movies that I have to sit through just to
be able to warn you guys. Death Melody is an
incredibly uninteresting drama thriller with a
relatively good opening scene and ending. But
between that, this was just pure nonsense.
