Allison returns
to her home town after having been to
prison for a crime that she didn't commit and then
running of to live in Europe for a while to try to
forget her past. Well, the past has caught up with
her and now she's decided to even the playing-field.
The ones that put her behind bars and moved on to
live rich, happy lives are about to be punished.

Hahaha, I have to give Lions Gate some credit for
marketing Douglas Jackson's cheap TV-thrillers as
DTV horror flicks. After Maid Of Honor I skipped
The Rival and The Perfect Marriage but due to a lack
of horror movies coming out right now, I decided that
I might as well give Jackson's latest TV-movie a shot
and see if perhaps he's blended more horror elements
into his movies now. The answer? Nope! If anything,
Demons From Her Past is even further away from the
horror genre than his previous efforts, despite the
horror-sounding title. Still, I've decided to review
it so that everyone else out there thinking that
they're about to rent a horror flick will be aware
of what this movie's really about.
Demons From Her Past almost feels like an episode of
Days Of Our Lives as it's filled with intrigues and
conspiracies - and for those of you who have seen an
episode of Days Of Our Lives, you'll know just how
ways it is to get drawn into the crappy show. Well
the same goes for this movie, but it's actually not
all that bad. In fact, I rather enjoyed it, no matter
how unoriginal and tame it might be.
The story revolves around Allison, a middle-aged woman
(Baywatch's Alexandra Paul), who returns to her home
town to finally make sure that the truth comes out
about what happened several years ago. Naturally,
no one in the town is very pleased to see her return
and some people will do anything they can to shut
her up. We all know where the story is headed and that
justice will be served but this is the kind of movie
that you can really enjoy on a Sunday afternoon when
you're too tired to watch anything too complex or
too serious. And when I say serious I mean that Demons
From Her Past won't scare or upset anyone, but it will
keep you watching and the story will intrigue you
enough for you to find it somewhat interesting.
It's a very tame thriller though and the goriest thing
we get in here is a dead beaver, but if you want to
watch a movie with your squeamish girlfriend, I'm
sure that she'll be able to enjoy this just as much
as you. Heck, you can probably even watch it with
your mother - or grandmother for that matter. It's
not a horror movie but as TV-thrillers go, this one
is actually pretty good.

A dead beaver.

TV-thriller stuff, did what it was intended to do but
not a whole lot more.

Don't be fooled by the artwork or title, this is a
TV-thriller which won't really thrill anyone.
Nevertheless, it's a quite entertaining one at that
and will keep you watching until the end, even though
you know what's going to happen. It's just a shame
that Douglas Jackson's movies are so poorly mismarketed
as I'm sure middle-aged women would love his movies.
