A couple of female friends head down into an
unexplored cave to see what mysteries it's
hiding. When their way out gets blocked by
a couple of rocks they decide to head further
into the cave system to see if there's
another exit. Unfortunately they run into a
couple of predators who are living in the
caves. Will anyone be able to survive these
horrible predators or are they all on the menu.

Incredible! Totally fucking incredible! This
might just be the best horror movie I have
ever seen! I'm simply speechless. The Descent
is at least the best horror movie this year!
The story seems to be pretty much the same as
in the forthcoming horror movie The Cave, in
fact, it almost looks as if they were made
from the same script, only The Cave is less
suspenseful and more Hollywood. I highly
doubt that The Cave will be able to top this
one and I don't think that I will get to see
a better horror flick in many years to come.
The entire idea of a group of female friends
heading into an unexplored cave is pretty
realistic and I've always believed that
somewhere, in a cave, at the bottom of the
ocean or even in the jungle, there are big
predators that we don't know of. So the idea
of them running into a couple of monster
creatures in a big cave system doesn't feel
too far fetched in my eyes.
The Descent is a very well directed movie
and even if you're not a reviewer, it's
impossible to avoid noticing all the cool
and original camerawork. The photography is
spectacular and the scenes shot with a
DV-cam are superb as they make the movie
feel more realistic. Who would have thought
that a 100 minute horror movie about killer
creatures in a cave system could actually be
as spectacular as this was?
It's not often that I jump or get frightened
but I was at the edge of my seat through the
entire movie and embarrassingly enough I must
have jumped at least 5 times, probably more
than that as well even though many of the
scares were false. You do not want to miss
this one, believe me! Horror movies don't get
much better than this, scary as hell!

We get gallons of blood splatter, a couple of
gory throat slittings, some intestines, a
deer head and more!

Like the icing on a cake the soundtrack made
this movie perfect. The score is strong and
solid and well composed while still feeling
quite original.

Possibly the best horror movie in history
even if many might argue with me on this.
I was scared to hell and there wasn't one
second of the movie that I felt bored,
I really, truly hope that the American
audience will get to see this in theatres
as well, horror just don't get much better
than this! Don't miss it!
