A group of random people with differing personalities
get stuck in the subway late one night with a bunch
of psychotic church freaks trying to kill them.
They claim that they just want to save them as the
apocalypse is near but these people have no plans
on being "saved" and instead try to run for their
lives. Will they be able to make it to the end
of the line or will they die before they get to
find out what's really going on?

Outstanding. Simply outstanding. The other day a
Slasherpool-regular (Mr. Bobby himself) asked me
which was my favourite horror flick of 2008 and
I told him that I didn't know. Well I do know.
End Of The Line is undoubtedly the best horror
flick of the year. This movie has got everything.
When you've all ready jumped three times within
the first fifteen minutes, you know that you're
in for a good movie experience and boy was I ever.
Heading into End Of The Line I wasn't expecting
much to be honest with you. It's from the director
of the top-notch slasher flick "Slashers" which
made me positive but then I also remembered that
he was involved in the 90's flick "Blood Symbol".
Well either way, End Of The Line had me chewing on
my nails until there was absolutely nothing left
so I think it's safe to say that he's truly outdone
himself with this movie.

The movie takes place in a subway (always a good
location for a horror flick) late at night where
a couple of people are trying to get home when
the train suddenly stops. It turns out that a religious
cult believes that the apocalypse is
here and that they have to save as many people as
possible before it's too late (and when I say save
I mean kill). The concept might not sound all that
great but believe you me, it is. This movie will
grab you from the moment that it starts until the
end credits finally start to roll and leave you
in a state of chock because there is not a moment
to breath in here. Seriously, this movie is not
joking around, it's suspenseful from the first till
the very last frame. And not only is this movie
very scary and intense but it's also gory as hell.
Like I said, this movie has got everything.

For those of you who are worried about the budget,
don't be, End of The Line could've easily gone
theatrical (and I really believe it had the
potential to be a major blockbuster). The cinematography
is fantastic and Maurice Devereaux proves that he
is a director to look out for. This guy means
serious business and makes a movie that cost
approximately 180,000 dollars to make look like
a multi-million dollar production. The acting is
also all-around terrific and you can tell that
all the actors are really into the movie and the
script. We have some great characters in here and
since they've never met before we're introduced
to them in a way that doesn't feel so forced.

You know, even if I wanted to I don't think that
I would be able to find a single issue that I had
with this flick. End Of The Line is the perfect
horror movie in my book. It's got everything a
horror-fan could ask for, and more! Now let's
give Maurice a real budget so that he can really
show us what he's capable of doing because while
Slashers was a great movie, it was far from the
masterpiece that is End Of The Line.

We get a slashed throat, a knife through the hand,
a head half hacked off, an axe in head, bloody
stabbings and a whole lot more. Yum.

Oh this had a terrific score attached to it that
helped building up the great atmosphere.

End Of The Line is the perfect horror movie and
has proven to me that there is still hope for
horror flicks out there (to be honest with you,
I'm sick of watching crap). Someone give this guy
a decent budget because this is the best horror
movie since The Descent. No question about it.
