Three friends who play a role game about vampires decide to bring
a fourth player into the game. As Carmila already seems to be
interested in the three misfits, she quickly takes the place as
the fourth player. Unfortunately the game becomes reality when the
four friends decide to visit a private vampire party...

Eternal Blood is the latest vampire flick from the country that
brought us many good creepy flicks the last couple of years, Spain.
While I'm not exactly a fan of vampire movies, this was actually
pretty good and original. It was like a trip into the acid world
of vampires. You have to remember that I'm one of those people who
are easily impressed with a fast moving soundtrack along with
flashy and cool special effects so obviously I was already very
entertained after 10 minutes after having received an excellent
and nice opening titles sequence along with some cool vampire
action. Unfortunately it went downhill from there and grew slower
and slower until it was finally an utter mess.

Impressive acting and slick dialogue pushes this movie forward
as good as it can. The directing helps out a lot aswell and like
I mentioned before, we get a lot of nice angles and flashy camera
work, which is an excellent element just to keep you interested.
However, sometimes the lighting was all wrong and they highlighted
wrong things in my opinion. Many dark scenes would probably be
almost impossible to see in the theatre, fortunately Fangoria has
treated us with a high quality DVD transfer, though not anamorphic,
or widescreen for that matter.

I think the biggest mistake they did when making this movie was
draw it out to 105 minutes. Then they made another mistake by
making the ending too obvious and predictable. I've given "Dracula
2000" three stars aswell but they're good in different ways so
I can't really compare them. If I have to choose between the two,
I guess I would have to say that I prefer Dracula 2000 as it looks
more professional, but if you're looking for something with a
little more bite in, this is the one for you.

A couple of slashed throats and a very gory head dismembering
fills our screens for the first 20 minutes but after that it
gets pretty dry so I wouldn't advice you to bring a barfbag.

I love this, 100% Spanish music! We get aggressive rock music and
slow underground rock ballads, all in Spanish and it works so
well for the movie that you wouldn't believe it. The soundtrack
really helps the movie a lot. We also get some nice fast moving
drums with a bit of drumm'n'bass feeling to it.

Simple but highly entertaining vampire flick, which takes a wrong
turn after 50 minutes and slows down and grows into an utter mess.
I thought the movie lived up to my expectations and even surpassed
them every once in a while since I hadn't gotten my expectations
up high for this one. If you're a true vampire lover you will most
definitely like this, if not, then you might aswell just leave it.
