A TV-team from Weird Worlde TV sets out to a small
welsh island to do a report on an alien abduction.
Naturally they treat it as a joke but they soon
discover that the island is crawling with evil
aliens who are eager to do experiments on them
all. Since there is no place to run, the TV-team
teams up with a couple of welsh hillbillies living
on the island, but is it possible to stop these
aliens or are they here to stay?

I have to say, heading into this movie I had very
low expectations. I mean, how good can a movie
with a title like "Evil Aliens" really be? Two
minutes into the movie I knew that I had set my
expectations way too low. Evil Aliens is basically
Britain's answer to the Australian horror comedy
"Undead", but with a whole lot more splatter in
it, reminding us of the good old days when Peter
Jackson directed brilliant movies on a shoestring
budget. I'm actually one of the few people who
consider Peter Jackson’s early movies, Braindead
and Bad Taste, to be a whole lot more entertaining
than his newer high budget movies (LOTR, King
Kong) so it was really nice to see a movie that
managed to capture the essence of those two
movies again, Evil Aliens is definitely nothing
that you see every day.

Who would have thought that Jake West, the director
of the cheesy low budget vampire flick Razor Blade
Smile, had this in him? The directing is just
brilliant. It's raw, it's stylish and it just
feels so god damn perfect for this movie. The
photography is a treat for the eye (and that's a
heavy understatement) and the editing is done
extremely well. You could really tell that the
makers of this film put their heart and soul into
making this movie.

Movies like Evil Aliens make us realize just how
many great actors there are out there. This is
a completely unknown cast but these actors are
much better than most horror movie actors these
days. The only problem I had with the cast was
that I had a heard time rooting for any of the
characters and only two of the six or seven key
characters actually got personalities. I don't
really understand why Jake West decided to leave
it this way because I believe that if the actors
would have been given deeper characteristics,
this could have been close to a flawless movie.

If you're a fan of movies like Braindead, Shaun
Of The Dead and Undead, you should undoubtedly
see this movie as soon as possible. Sure, some
of the jokes might feel a bit immature but for
most of the time the humour is pretty clever and
we get a couple of good chuckles along the way.
This is the splatter comedy that we've all been
waiting for so let's hope that we get to see more
movies like this from Jake West in the future.

Wow where do I begin. This splatter fest has
gallons of blood through the entire thing. We
get a drill up ones ass, a stomach opened up,
guts being torn out, people getting ripped apart,
gory impalements, body parts being chopped off,
some cool decapitations and a whole lot more!
This will not disappoint you.

The clever score works brilliantly to set the
right atmosphere for the movie. The hilarious
country music is by far the best though.

It was nice to finally get to see a horror movie
where you could really tell that the director had
put his heart and soul into it again. These kind
of movies really are rare. If you enjoyed movies
like Undead, Shaun Of The Dead and Braindead, do
not miss this one! Hysterically entertaining!
