Jimmy Fischer is a bullied boy in school and when
a couple of friends decide to play a prank on him,
he decides that he's had enough. Later that night,
the friends are at a party and at first it seems
like the best party ever but when a killer in a
clown mask shows up and starts offing the friends,
the party kind of dies out.
Every now and then I love checking out some indie
slasher flick which never got released by a real
company. Evil Night sure is one of those flicks and
unless Lions Gate pick this one up, this movie will
never get an official release as this is just about
as awful as indie slashers get. The story basically
revolves around a killer clown who goes on a killing
spree at a party hosted by some of the rich kids
from school. Well, I don't really get how these kids
could be the popular ones since they look like very
average Joe's to me, plus they look like they are in
their late 20's.
The acting is really awful and the actors fail to
look away from the camera many times and instead
stare right into it. The directing is even worse and
the DVD I got looks like it was transferred from a
bad VHS copy even though the DVD cover clearly states
that the DVD has been remastered. Well, if that's
the case, I don't even want to think about how the
VHS release looked.
Evil Night is basically a homemade version of Camp
Blood mixed with Ax 'Em. It's got the cheesy killer
clown from Camp Blood and it's got the awful quality
from Ax 'Em along with Ax 'Ems terribly slow pace.
If you've seen this on eBay and thought about checking
it out, think again. It is definitely not worth the
9 bucks that it costs so avoid this mess and get
something which actually managed to find distribution.
We get an impalement, a hand chopped off, a head split
in half, a decapitation and some more but all the gore
effects are really terrible.
The heavy metal music is awful and doesn't exactly
benefit the movie.
Evil Night is just a terrible homemade slasher flick
which should have never ever been released, even if
it was only released on eBay. Avoid this awful flick
even if you're a fan of killer clowns. No one could
ever possibly enjoy this flick.
