A couple of reporters decide to look for a forgotten
city but it seems as if people don't want to talk
about it so how will they be able to find it? Well,
after further investigation they finally find the
city... but they will soon wish that they hadn't
as the forgotten city is inhabited by ghosts, or
zombies, or demons, or whatever these things are
supposed to be.

Low budget DTV zombie flicks are usually really bad
but since Evil's City isn't a zombie flick, well,
I don't think it is anyway, I mean people who are
bitten don't turn into one of them so I'm guessing
that these people are some kind of ghost-demons,
anyway, as I was saying, since Evil's City isn't a
low budget zombie flick, it actually turned out to
be quite good. Instead, this is a pretty creepy and
surprisingly original ghost town movie about a
couple of rival reporters who enter a forgotten city
where the ghost inhabitants are out to kill them.
The acting skills in the movie are actually really
good so these are definitely not your average DTV
horror actors. They might be inexperienced but they
sure can act. The directing is relatively good even
though the camerawork is a bit shaky at times and
some camera angles are completely wrong. You just
don't film people who are standing against the sun
if you don't have a camera that can handle it.
Evil's City tries to be interesting from scene one
but since we haven’t gotten to know the characters
yet, it doesn't really get interesting until 30
minutes into the movie, just like it should be. Now,
Evil's City might not be the best horror movie I've
ever seen, but for a low budget production this
turned out to be surprisingly good, so if you're
in for a relatively creepy, though not hysterically
suspenseful ghost flick, I suggest that you check
this one out.

We get a gory skull, a hand through ones stomach,
a severed head and not a whole lot more.

The suspense score is very unoriginal but does what
it's intended to do, create a good atmosphere. We
also get some rock music which is pretty cool.

Mildly creepy ghost story which took me by surprise.
For a low budget movie this looks very good and the
actors are definitely good. If you feel like watching
an original demon/ghost flick, maybe you ought to
check this one out. Very forgettable movie however.
