Gail's parents died recently and when she on top
of that has to move to a new city with her sister
and her sister's husband, she becomes furious
and starts having schizophrenic episodes. Or so
her psychologist believes when she is in fact
possessed by the devil. Will they be able to
help her get rid of the demons within her before
it's too late?

Since The Exorcism Of Emily Rose was such a hit,
it was just a matter of time before cheap DTV
rip-offs would appear in our local video stores.
Exorcism: The Possession Of Gail Bowers is the
first one to hit the market and I have to say,
it could have been a whole lot worse.

This is actually more or less a remake of the
original "The Exorcist" from the 70s story wise.
A young girl, Gail Bowers in this case, plays
with a ouija board and soon becomes possessed.
She starts crawling on the walls and speaking in
Latin with different voices so naturally a priest
is called in to perform an exorcism.

While this movie is pretty entertaining, I think
that we can all agree on that we've seen this
story a couple of times too many now and even
though it's got a couple of great moments, it's
ultimately not a great movie. In fact, it feels
like a very rushed project with a pretty weak
plot. I mean, if I had the money I'm sure I could
come up with something more original than this.
Watching a girl with crazy contacts and a Darth
Vader voice just isn't too exciting anymore.

It seems to me as if the production company and
horror movie distributor The Asylum are caring
less and less about the quality of their movies
and more and more about the profit. It's such a
shame though. If you're a fan of exorcism movies,
you might like this flick but it's nothing new,
I'll tell you that.

For a movie about exorcism, it's pretty gory. We
get a crucifix in ones neck, gory eyes, a crushed
head and a little more.

The soundtrack his a completely mixed bag. In
some scenes it manages to create the perfect
atmosphere with some angelic choir music while
in some other scenes it sounds as if a tone-def
is trying to learn how to play the piano. This
was just ultimately odd.

While I did think that The Exorcism Of Emily
Rose was a decent movie, I didn't think that it
was a great one. I've never really been a fan of
exorcism movies in the first place I guess so
when an unoriginal and uninspired movie like
this comes along, I'm just not too impressed.
This should have been more original even though
it had its moments.
