A bunch of
strippers go to a remote cabin in the woods
to star in a lesbian fetish porno, only to be greeted
by a bunch of raving maniacs who start to torture them
until their bodies can't handle it anymore.
Now this is torture porn for you people. A bunch of
strippers getting tortured for no apparent reason for
an hour and a half. I hate to be prejudicial but the
people behind this movie can't have very good taste
as this was as tasteless as movies get, but it was
actually not as bad as you'd think it'd be. As cheap
and tasteless as it was, Experiment In Torture actually
had a couple of strong sides and you ended up connecting
with several of the characters. Perhaps due to the fact
that the strippers weren't necessarily bimbos, they
were actually pretty smart, like most strippers are
(sadly). So when a girl got dumped in the ocean to
swim to the sure with a badly broken leg, you really
did feel for her as she was crying out for help.
Anyway, so the story is about a couple of strippers who
go to a luxury lodge for the weekend to star in a
lesbian porn film. At first they're all very excited
as the lodge is more than luxurious enough for them.
They spend the night drinking, playing games and
enjoying themselves. That's until they start to realize
that someone has been setting up horrifying traps all
over the house. None of which will kill them, oh no,
the killers (yes, there are more than one of them)
have much more coming for them than just a little trap.
The girls soon find themselves being tortured to the
point where their bodies can't handle any more pain
and they end up dying from exhaustion or bleeding to
death. Either way, no one will get away easily.
Experiment In Torture doesn't involve many experiments,
nor is it as gory as you'd expect it to be. Most of the
torture scenes are actually pretty tame if you ask me
and won't shock anyone. Since I have somewhat mixed
feelings towards this film, I will do my regular
positives and negatives list and for once let's start
with the negatives shall we?
First of all we have the tacky premise. Strippers
getting tortured? Are you kidding me? And most of them
keep their clothes on during the entire film? What's
the point? Then we have the extremely lame killers
accompanied with some even lamer "experiments". Like
why would a person die from getting a corpse-worm
(or whatever they're called) put in a bloody scar?
They only eat rotten flesh so they'd never injure
a live human being unless the body part in question
was rotten. There are also a whole bunch of plot holes
that I can't be bothered getting into right now.
My biggest problem was probably the ending when all
these new characters popped up from out of nowhere
and left me very confused.
Then we have the positives, and there are more than
you'd expect actually. First of all there's the fact
that the movie looks quite decent technically, it
doesn't look homemade. The acting is better than
expected and you connect with a few of the characters.
Oh have I all ready run out of positives? Well, it
figures. Ultimately, Experiment In Torture isn't quite
as bad as you'd expect it to be, but it's definitely
not good either. It's a tacky torture porn with no
real torture or porn so I never really saw the point
of the movie. Perhaps there wasn't one to be found?
A slit throat, a broken leg, a decapitation, a bloody
scar, some blood splatter. Nothing huge.
Decent rock music and competent techno beats. I didn't
mind it, it fit the movie well.
Campy torture porn flick which wasn't quite as bad as
I had expected it to be. It has its strong moments and
it was definitely watchable, it just wasn't all that
terrifying or disturbing. Hell, the torture scenes
were really kind of tame. Nothing worth checking out.
