"One of the better episodes of Fear Itself"

A one-hit-wonder writer with a serious case of writers
block goes to a remote cabin with his wife to find
some much needed inspiration. It turns out that his
wife has also invited his publicist and two of his
friends so that they can push him a little. But as
the night comes crawling, so comes the darkness, and
something that hides within it.

As we've finally reached the end of what has been an
atrocious TV-show that will not be missed, The Circle
makes the show go out on a rather high note. From the
director of Curandero (which still hasn't been released?)
comes a rather generic but still moderately entertaining
and suspenseful episode where a bunch of people get
trapped inside a cabin with darkness surrounding them.
It's a tale of witchcraft and demonic possession so
naturally it's a bit cheesy but as a TV-episode it's
pretty decent and will keep you intrigued enough for
you not to switch channels.

While my favourite episode of this show is undoubtedly
"Community", "The Circle" comes in on an honourable
second place. It is the only episode that has actually
made me jump - even if it was just that one time.
It's also much better-looking in terms of production
values and directing than the other episodes and
I really think that they should have started with
this episode instead of putting it at the end of the
season. The acting is so-so and the script isn't
brilliant but like I said before, it's TV-stuff, it
would never be turned into a full-length feature.

At the end of the day I'm extremely happy that this
show is finally off the air - once and for all.
Hopefully it will never return and I think that we've
been proven that this concept just doesn't work.
Masters Of Horror was okay but it certainly wasn't
anything that I looked forward to seeing each week.
If they're going to do this kind of show again, I think
that they should focus more on doing R-rated slasher
movies than PG rated ghost stories.

No.

Nothing special.

One of the better episodes of Fear Itself even if
that's not saying much. It gave me a jump and had
some suspenseful moments in it but it's nothing that
I would buy on DVD.
