"A mediocre episode of a cancelled show"

A veterinarian is bit by a werewolf and slowly starts
to enjoy the perks that come with the transformation.
However, people around him are getting slaughtered
and since he can't remember anything that he does
as a werewolf, he's starting to think that maybe he
could be the one responsible for the killings.

The cancelled show is back - and I guess it was only
a matter of time. This isn't some lame sitcom like
"Do Not Disturb", this is a horror show, naturally
it was going to air at one point or another... even
if it's now on a smaller low-profile channel. Anyway
I can't say that I'm too happy that it's back as
it was cancelled for a reason but I guess it's nice
to be able to finally see the unaired episodes.
Something with bite is a werewolf story - and you
all know that I'm not a big fan of werewolf movies.
Anyway, this time they've taken a comic approach
to the concept and I kind of liked the idea of having
a veterinarian become a werewolf.

However, that is not enough to make this episode feel
original or clever. In fact, Something with bite
doesn't really feel like it belongs in this show.
It's too tame. Everyone has good intentions. Also,
since it's only 40 minutes long it feels kind of
like a rush-job. It doesn't get a chance to blossom
into an awesome werewolf flick and has to settle
for mediocrity. As far as the acting goes it was
decent and the cast seemed to be into the project
more than what can be expected from them. The
directing is also on an acceptable level.

I don't really feel like writing a longer review
for a 40 minute episode from a cancelled show. It
seems like I could spend my time more wisely. It's
definitely not the worst episode of Fear Itself but
it's also not enough to make you excited about the
return of the show. My guess is that the show will
continue on this level until the first season is
over and then we will never hear anything more from
it. Hopefully they will bring back Masters of Horror
instead because no matter how mediocre that show
may have been, at least the movies were longer and
had more developed scripts.

An arm ripped off.

Nothing worth commenting on.

A mediocre episode of a cancelled show. I don't think
that I have to tell you twice that this was anything
but great. If you're into friendly werewolf flicks,
maybe it's worth a watch but this is definitely
something that you can watch with your kids without
them having any nightmares.
