Young Brian is afraid of the dark and when Brian and his brother
are left home alone one rainy night, his brother Dale has to
convince him that everything will be all right. Unfortunately the
power goes when the thunderstorm gets too bad and the two brothers
have to use a couple of flashlights to be able to see anything
at all. Brian seems to be the only one who has realised that a
couple of flashlights won't keep the darkness away and what they
are able to see, might not be so pleasant.

First came They, then came Darkness Falls and then came Fear
Of The Dark... hang on, that's not right, first came Fear Of
The Dark and then came the others. The only thing is that this
movie didn't find a distributor in time in America and was
left forgotten. These three are all quite similar and have
the same theme. I did however like this the most, it's a good
movie but it lacks of real horror and you're left feeling as
if you have seen a PG-13 movie. And the thing is, I doubt they
will rate this PG-13 since the monsters look pretty creepy
and the atmosphere is also pretty creepy.

The acting was as suspected very good from both Kevin Zegers
and Rachel Skarsten. The only one who didn't feel very convincing
was young Jesse James playing Brian. You never really got the
impression that he was scared or sad. However, on with the
review, the directing was good but you could tell that they
didn't have the best budget for this since a lot of angles
were used more than once. The special effects are incredibly
good though and they could suit a theatrical horrormovie any time.

It's a strange thing this night terrors phenomenon that we
have witnessed recently. Darkness Falls which was without a
doubt the worst of the three scored 30million dollars+ at
the box-office, while the slightly better horrormovie called
They only scored about 9 million dollars at the US box office.
Now we find out that there's an even better one, which didn't
get released at all, what is going on here? Someone tell me
cause I just don't understand.

Some ugly creatures but no, nothing really. Considering there
is a bodycount of well one, you know what to expect.

This was cool, some heavy rock music, some creepy piano music
and some pop music, very nice. Excellent choice of soundtrack.

Creepy horrormovie with a nice and original idea, which doesn't
reach far enough to get a higher grade than 3. I do recommend
this to anyone below 15 years of age since it felt more like a
PG-13 movie than an R rated movie. If there had been a higher
bodycount I would without a doubt have given this four stars.
