A news reporter gets kidnapped by a psychotic family
when she decides to follow a man who's busy torturing
a woman. Turns out that it was just a trick to lure
her inside their house. The family starts torturing
her in numerous ways, will she ever get out alive
or will she be on tomorrows news?
The movie's called Filthy and now, while I wouldn't
personally call it filthy, I would agree to call it
a piece of shit. It feels like the writer (and
probably director) of the movie just thought to
himself "Hey! The Texas Chainsaw Massacre was
popular, why not make a rip-off with much more
disgusting things and less murders to save a couple
of bucks, oh and we might as well just make it half
an hour long as well so that we don't have to make
up a story".
I actually thought that TCM was a lot more brutal
than this. Sure, disgusting things happen in the
movie but they never feel very real as the directing
looks to clean and the acting is too abysmal. When
I say that the directing looks to clean I mean that
it looks a bit too professional for its own good.
This is one of those movies that should've been
directed the good old Blair Witch way as it's a
movie which should have felt real. And this just
didn't feel real in the least.
While the acting was abysmal, the characters were
even worse. The reporter is bitchy and insensitive
which makes you hate her rather than root for her,
you actually couldn't care less if a bag of poop
was poured over her. The mother of the family tries
to act overly psychotic and she tries so hard to
make a scary voice that it just feels very fake.
The story is also very ludicrous, there's no way
anyone would live this way, even if they were
psychotic, which they to me don't seem like they
are. They just seem like a family who's turned
on by weird things. And in the end, I've seen
Japanese fetish videos more disgusting and
disturbing than this craptacular movie.
I'm sorry for this very immature comment but;
Filthy my ass! The girl gets a finger dismembered,
oh no! This is too sick for me (and yes I am being
ironic). Come on you guys, you could've done
better than this!
Some piano music fills the score and serves its
purpose but when the tacky midi techno music kicks
in I thought that this would be the last thing
that my ears ever heard.
Not filthy, but a real piece of shit. The tagline
for this movie is "GET TRASHED" and on the DVD
cover designers behalf I'd like to say sorry, there's
a typo in this tagline, it should say "GETS TRASHED".
Go rent one of the Texas Chainsaw Massacre movies
instead, even the awful "Return Of The Texas Chainsaw
Massacre" is better than this.
