A
graduating class is at a carnival and is just
about to go on a ride in a roller coaster when
a girl named Wendy freaks out, saying that the
coaster will crash. No one believes her and only
a few get off of the ride. Well, the roller
coaster crashes and once again, death has to
finish what he once started. Will Wendy and her
friends be able to figure out a way to cheat
death once and for all or will they all die?

People have been saying that this franchise is
getting better by every movie. Well I have to
disagree. I'm not saying that Final Destination 3
is a bad movie, not at all, in fact, it's just
as good as the previous ones. So why do people
think that this franchise is getting better by
every movie? Well here's what I think. The first
movie was released right in the middle of the
teen slasher-craze and played out as any other
teen slasher flick, only with death being the
killer. The second one was released when it was
popular to have a mixed-age cast in horror movies
and didn't play so much as a slasher as the first
one did. This third one goes back to the teen
cast but since gore is very popular now, this
movie relies much more on heavy gore than the
previous movies did. So saying that the franchise
is getting better is to me not a true statement,
it's just an illusion.
Anyway, enough of my psycho-babble right? This
is probably the movie that I've been most excited
about in 2006 and I'm happy to say that it lived
up to my expectations. The opening scene is not
quite as flashy as the one in Final Destination 2
but it's much more intense and keeps you on the
edge of your seat. I just wish that the opening
would have been longer. In fact the entire movie
flies by way too quickly, but I guess that's a
good thing though. I mean, it's almost two hours
long and it feels like about 40 minutes so this
is definitely a movie that you will be watching
over and over again - just like you did with the
previous two movies.
It's obvious that they're not trying to do anything
original with this sequel, nor did they have to.
The fan base of the Final Destination franchise
are expecting over-the-top gore scenes and that's
exactly what you get. The plot is pretty much the
same as in the previous two movies only with fresh
new faces. Speaking about fresh new faces, I read
in a review somewhere that the actors were abysmal.
Well I have to disagree, I thought the cast did
an amazing job with what they had and it was very
nice to see Chelan Simmons in a high budget horror
flick rather than the Sci-Fi TV crap she's usually
in. Hopefully she's an actress on the rise.
Final Destination 3 definitely lived up to my
expectations and I'm hoping that there will be
a fourth instalment in this relatively successful
franchise as well. Other horror fans might
complain about the lack of originality in this
sequel but I'm honestly just very satisfied to
finally be able to see a great gory slasher in
the theatres again. So I say stop your damn whining
and enjoy this while you can because we don't see
many movies like this in the theatres anymore.

There is lots of gore in this but I'm going to
be nice to you and stop right there since I don't
want to spoil the movie for you.

Same score as we heard in the first movie, which
was nice, I love it when they stick to one theme
like in Halloween and Friday the 13th.

Final Destination fans will not be disappointed
by this gory and hysterically entertaining sequel
which will probably be the best horror movie of
2006. Support R-rated slashers like this one and
hopefully we will be able to get rid of PG-13
horror flicks once and for all.
