A couple of students find themselves trapped
inside a room in their school one night. They
are told by the TV in the room that someone's
been killed and it's up to them to find out
who the killer is before they become victims
themselves. Panic starts to spread and when
they find a dead guy hanging from a hook, all
hell breaks loose.

This is a difficult review to write as I'm sure
that I would have liked this much more when it
was originally released, simply due to the fact
that this concept has been copied so many times
since 1995. The fact that this movie is almost
identical to the awesome Spanish slasher flick
"School Killer" makes this incredibly predictable.
It's got all the same twists and a story which
isn't quite as good.
The Final Hour is great for being a Scandinavian
slasher flick, I'll say that, but I had honestly
expected a whole lot more from it. The script
has some serious flaws, making parts of the movie
very confusing. I mean, I'm still not sure who
the killer was and I don't know anyone who's
seen this film that has actually figured it out
either. That doesn't make it a bad film though.
The movie has plenty of good scares in it and
while most of the gore effects look pretty cheap,
they are effective.
It's pretty obvious that this was directed by
the same guy who was responsible for Backstabbed
as the two movies have many similarities and
there's just something about them that I'm not
too fond of. In the end, this is, just like
Backstabbed, a very average slasher and I had
hoped that it would be so much more. Even though
it might be a must for Danish people, I see no
reason to why you should track this one down
even though it's gotten a couple of good reviews.

We get a melted face, a dismembered head, a slit
throat and very little more.

The soundtrack does manage to create a very
good atmosphere for most of the time with silent
violins creeping up on you. It never really
took over though so it didn't come off as a
very powerful score.

I'm on the fence with this one. While it was
probably quite original back in 1995, it's
definitely not a timeless slasher movie as this
concept has been done to death now. It does
have a lot of potential but some factors just
ruined it for me and it ended up feeling like
a very forgettable, average slasher flick.
