The psychotic
clown that tried to kill Lynn has
escaped from the mental institution and is
determined to succeed with his mission this time.
To make things even worse, this time he's brought
to friends with him. Will Detective Dan be able
to save Lynn or will evil conquer?

Fear Of Clowns was a decent time-waster as far as
I can recall, but I do remember having two
complaints - the first one was that it wasn't
really a slasher, it was more of a crime thriller,
and the second one was that it was way too long
for its own good. Well guess what, nothing's
changed. Everyone's hailed this as a great
sequel - even saying that it tops its mediocre
predecessor. I'm sorry to say this but it doesn't.
I guess it's almost on the same level but what
bothered me was how director Kevin Kangas hadn't
addressed any of the issues the second time around.
I guess he didn't see them as issues.
This time, the evil clown is back but he's also
got two companions by his side and they're even
less scary. I really hated the Mr. Jingles-like
clown. Anyway, he's also got some normal guy to
help him out in his quest of finding Lynn so this
guy drives the clowns around in his van so that
they can kill people. What are they? Bank robbers?
Anyway, the clowns aren't even mysterious this
time around since they have grown quite social
and chat a lot with each other. Silly. Just plain
silly. Oh and there's also an unnecessary subplot
that had nothing to do with anything basically
about Detective Dan's decease. Let's not get into
that though shall we?
Acting-wise the movie is a small step up from
Fear of Clowns and I guess it does have more
gore and action than the first movie. Too bad
that the gore scenes were so random. You know,
there are so many things that make this seem
like a slasher flick but it's not, it tries to
be much more than what it actually is. The worst
part however has to be the excruciating running
time of the movie. I just hope that they trim it
for the official DVD release (the movie can
currently be bought through the official homepage).
In the end, Fear of Clowns 2 isn't awful but it's
bad. It really is and I'm sorry to say it because
I truly did want to like it as I know that Kevin
put his heart and soul into this flick. It's
slow, it's uneven and it's just not that interesting.
Perhaps it'll be better when they chop it down
by 30 minutes but I doubt that a masterpiece
could come out of this. Nice try though.

We get lots of decapitations, a girl gets chopped
in half, intestines and more. Surprisingly gory.

A huge step up from the first film, this score
actually sounded very professional and almost
managed to create suspense in some scenes.

I apologize to Mr. Kangas who has obviously wasted
a lot of time with this project but I didn't
like it. Fear Of Clowns 2 is a rather poor
thriller and I don't know if I've become more
picky or if this was simply worse than its
predecessor, all I know is that I didn't enjoy
it quite as much. In fact I didn't really enjoy
it at all apart from a few scenes here and there.
