Victor is determined to succeed in re-animating dead
people no matter how high the price may be. When he
finally succeeds he realizes that he's created a
monster. Victor's creation is soon enough out on the
streets killing people, is there any way to stop
this madness before it gets completely out of control?
And will anyone actually believe Victor's story?

When I received this in the mail I immediately got very
sceptical since I had mixed this one up with the 90's
Frankenstein flick called "Frankenstein Unbound" which
I didn't care for very much. Since it had been a long
time since I saw that movie I decided to give it a try
anyway and found myself positively surprised when it
turned out that this was a brand new movie. However,
I was still very sceptical towards this since I have
yet to see a really good adaptation of Mary Shelley's
Frankenstein, I never really did care much for the
entire concept. Well, Frankenstein Reborn turned out
to be a very vague adaptation of Mary Shelley's story,
this actually went more along the lines of the
Re-Animator movies.

This fresh new adaptation was actually very well done.
The story is tight and the movie is actually pretty
unpredictable. What these guys, along with many
other people didn't seem to get however, is the fact
that the doctor is the one called Frankenstein
originally and the creature was called Frankenstein's
Monster. Small details like that rarely bug me but
I'm pretty sick of the whole misunderstanding on
that one so I just had to make that clear.

The acting is surprisingly good and the directing
is brilliant. This does not look like a DTV movie at
all, which just proves how far The Asylum Entertainment
has come during the past couple of years. In my
eyes, they are the leading US horror distribution
company now, way ahead of Lions Gate who are quickly
loosing their good reputation by releasing the most
awful DTV horror flicks ever.

Frankenstein Reborn is a solid and highly entertaining
horror flick filled with gore so this was definitely
my cup of tea. The fact remains however that I'm not
too crazy about all these Frankenstein's monster
adaptations and I really didn't feel like we needed
yet another one (thus the rating 3/5). But if you're
in the mood for a good Frankenstein flick, this is
definitely the one you should be checking out as it
is the best Frankenstein film I've seen in years.

The blood splatters everywhere with legs being ripped
off, a hand impaled through ones stomach, a big piece
of glass impaled through another ones stomach, a head
sawed off and a whole lot more!

I was very pleased to hear that they dared to bring
some originality into the soundtrack. The groovy,
chill-out dance music fits the movie perfectly and
creates the perfect atmosphere.

Solid and entertaining adaptation of the famous story
by Mary Shelley. More original than most other
versions I've seen of Frankenstein’s monster and
definitely a whole lot more gory. If you feel like
watching a Frankenstein flick, this is definitely
the one I'm recommending.
