A family is terrorized by two snobs that like to play
games for an entire night. Will they live to see
another day or will they all die tonight?

Well this was certainly a whole lot of crap! No wonder
it was dumped with a limited release and flopped.
Actually, it is a wonder that it even got a limited
theatrical release, this movie just screams DTV to me
and what's even more surprising is that it's getting
theatrical releases in most countries. WHY? Why on earth
would anyone unleash this rubbish upon an unsuspecting
audience? And now to the thing that's really boggling
my mind; HOW THE HELL did this get a 7.1 rating on IMDB
and get glowing reviews from almost every single movie
critic out there? I'll best brutally honest with you,
I have not seen the original of this and apparently this
is a shot-by-shot remake so therefore I probably never
will, I really don't get what's so great about it.
I watched about an hour of it together with my fiancé
until he got up from his chair and said "I'm bored,
this movie sucks, I'm making myself a snack". 20 minutes
later my fiancé came back and he asked me "what did
I miss?" to which I answered "well, nothing really,
they're still sitting in the living room doing nothing".

Funny Games wants to be a vicious thriller and wants
to affect its audience but it failed to do so miserably.
Say what you will about Michael Haneke, I don't care
that many consider him to be an outstanding director,
you just don't leave the camera in the exact same spot
without moving it for 5 minutes even though there's
nothing going on. Seriously, we get to watch a shot of
a flight of stairs for 2 minutes while nothing happens.
After 2 minutes a dog runs down the stairs and Michael
Haneke finally wakes up and changes to a new angle.
This happens several times throughout the movie and
makes the movie even slower than it all ready is. Sure,
I've seen my fair share of slow-paced movies but let's
get serious, it's basically two hours of nothing
happening and when something finally does happen it's
either off-screen or it didn't really happen. You'll
get what I mean when (and if) you see the movie.

The two snobby boys playing the psychopaths are so
annoying and I'm still not sure why they were doing
what they were doing or what connection they had to
one another. Were they gay? I don't think so. Were
they brothers? Possibly. Were they just friends? Who
knows? And where the hell did they come from anyway?
And in a neighbourhood where only rich people live,
shouldn't there be lots of cops circling the area to
make sure that everything's all right? I'm telling
you, this really is a poor film. So why the rating of
one? Two words; Naomi Watts. Man, can this woman act
or what? Naomi is fantastic and nails it in every
possible way. Meanwhile, Tim Roth is stuck playing
the most annoying character of them all, I just wanted
him to die all ready. Talk about being a wimp.

Okay okay, so in the end, I hated Funny Games. I did.
It's a cheap thriller (NOT HORROR, NOT HORROR, NOT
EVEN NEARLY HORROR) that doesn't really go anywhere.
Oh and guess what? It ends exactly like you expect it
to. I would like to urge fans of this movie to email
me and tell me what's so good about it. Tell me what
the point of the movie was. Tell me that you honestly
thought that 112 minutes of pure nonsense was
entertaining. This one is a snoozer people, but don't
take my word for it because for some strange reason
people are loving this retarded movie.

Rated R for terror, violence and some language. Let
me refrain; Rated R for some minor violence and two
or three swearwords.

Worst death metal music ever. Yuck.

Guess what? It's another mind-numbingly awful remake
and this time I didn't even see the original so I had
no expectations what-so-ever going into it. To all of
you who thought this movie was even mildly amusing,
please email me and tell me a list of five things that
were good about this movie - excluding Naomi Watts.
