After two teens died a tragic death, a girl
who's been to the crime scene gets hit by a car.
The woman who hit her decides to bring her home
to her family. The girl can't seem to remember
anything about her life so she soon starts
helping out around the house. But then, one day
she starts getting premonitions, people are
walking around like nothing's happen but what
she sees is different, she sees them with bloody
faces or worse. Who is she really? And why are
she getting these premonitions.

At first I didn't think that this looked very
promising so I never bothered watching this at
the local theatre where it went. Now, a couple
of months later I regret that. The Gathering
isn't really a scary film nor creepy but it
has a lot of jump scenes, I'm talking records
here. The story is quite unique in the way
that it focuses on the people who watched Jesus
die instead of focusing on Jesus himself.
I actually thought that it would turn out to
be another Stigmata copy but I was so wrong.
Christina Ricci in one of her finest moments
ever here. She made this movie even better with
her superior acting. She even managed to pull
your thoughts away from Pumpkin and The Adam's
Family. The supporting cast is also very talented.
The directing is nothing special though, I mean,
it looks good but some of the scene transfers
are just terrible.
One of the most original horrormovies that I've
seen in quite a while actually. It works a bit
like Village Of The Damned so if you liked that
one, I can guarantee that you will love this
one. It's pretty much the same idea, just not
as cheesy as the '95 version of Village Of The
Damned. I can definitely recommend this one for
any horrorfan. Very entertaining horrormovie with
a perfect running time of 1:23.

Quite bloody but not very gory, the goriest thing
we get is a slit throat and someone who gets
shot in the eye.

I didn't even reflect on the soundtrack, it was
very discrete which was good for the movie as
you need the dialogue more than the music. It
was the sound effects that I was impressed with
in this movie.

While there are a lot of really bad horrormovies
being released right now, this is one of the
good ones. It's sort of like a mixture between
"Darkness" and "Village Of The Damned". If you
want to have your heart popping up in your
throat, this might be the way to go. I enjoyed it.
