Some environmental activists go onto an oil rig to broadcast their
complaints to the public but to their surprise there's nobody on
the rig. When they start winding up dead one by one they start to
suspect that something's wrong, but they could never have guessed
what exactly has gone wrong on the rig. An evil spirit takes over
peoples bodies and leaves them dead as soon as it changes body.
Now no one can be trusted and your best friend might just have become
your worst enemy.

So I sat down today with a friend and decided to check this movie
out, as usual we watched the trailer first and we were both quite
put off by it since it looked like no budget nonsense. As we started
watching it despite the terrible expectations that we had now
gotten we were both quickly drawn into the movie. The movie is
incredibly suspenseful and you have to hide behind your pillow
like at least 6 or 7 times. It's just full of surprises and I
think that they really should make a new trailer as a movie this
good deserves a good trailer. If you're thinking that it'll be a
Ghost Ship rip-off, you're dead wrong, it's nothing like Ghost
Ship, it doesn't have anything in common with it at all.

The acting is incredibly strong and you actually feel hatred
towards a couple of those who get possessed by the demon and
you're sad as soon as someone you didn't want dead dies. What
surpasses the acting is the directing, it feels like you're
watching a documentary, in other words, it feels as if you're
watching the real deal and there's no creepier feeling than that.
I was blown away by how good the directing was, in fact, I
consider this to be theatrical material.

Ghost Rig is incredibly good and it's shocking that I haven't
heard more about it than I have. If you find the movie slow in
parts you will soon learn that it was worth the wait as the
ending is one of the most excellent endings I've ever seen.
This is not a movie for those who can't figure out things in
movies, you need brains to understand this movie, it's incredibly
clever and it's totally in your face. What a surprise!

A bloody hammer and some not so gory impalements are nothing
to get worked up about. Ghost Rig doesn't need any gore to be
good as most ghost movies.

There isn't much of a soundtrack to talk about since it basically
only consisted of echoes and some noises. It does the trick though
and I don't think it would have been very good if they tried
to have a powerful soundtrack in here. It's eerie and dark and
that's exactly what this movie needed.

Surprisingly good movie especially after watching the terrible
trailer. Ghost Rig is really unpredictable and if you like to
watch something original for once, this is it. Kudos to the
director who did an amazing job here, this is one movie I strongly
recommend. Rent or buy this now! You will not regret it.
