Ghost's Story (I'm pretty sure they mean Ghost
Stories but as we all know by now, they're not
great at English grammar in Thailand) tells two
tales of terror. The first one is called The
Forbidden Room and the second one is called The Ghost
Game. I will tell you more about the plots
in my review.
I'm always sceptical when I start watching Thai
DTV horror flicks but for some reason I've gotten
a lot of requests lately that I should review more
Thai horror movies again so that's what I intend
to do. Ghost's Story tells two ghost stories and
here are my thoughts on them.
The first story is called "The Forbidden Room" and
revolves around a bunch of teenage boys who lure a
geeky boy into a haunted house to get their football.
But when the geeky boy still hasn't returned after
more than a day, they decide to go back to check
what really happened to him. They will soon wish
that they had left it alone. This is a very typical
Thai DTV ghost flick with lots of stupid jokes and
silly humour thrown into the all ready poor ghost
story. This really didn't make me feel like watching
story number two as this was just so incredibly bad.
Either way, I decided to go on as I had all ready
forced myself through half of the movie anyway.
The second story is called The Ghost Game and
revolves around a couple of teenage girls who are
haunted by an evil ghost after having played
with an ouija board. This story was a whole lot
better than the previous one and I think it's weird
that they decided to put this as story number two
since most people will probably stop watching after
story number one. It isn't really scary and it's
not a good movie but it does have a certain
potential and it is mildly entertaining at times.
All in all, Ghost's Story is not worth checking out
since the first story was abysmal and the second
story was just mildly entertaining. I wouldn't have
recommended the second story even if it was a
stand-alone movie though so don't bother with this one.
Nothing here.
The score is pretty good but what annoyed me was
the horrible sound effects, it sounds as if your
speakers have exploded. With better sound effects,
the scares would have been a whole lot more effective.
The first story is awful and the second story is
mildly entertaining but still pretty bad so these
Ghost stories are definitely not worth checking
out. DTV Thai horror flicks are usually pretty bad
though so I really did see this one coming.
