Tracy has just gotten her drivers license and is
on her way home with her mom. But the drive home
turns into a tragedy when Tracy drives into a tree
causing her mother to die. A long time after,
Tracy starts hearing voices inside her head, but
what do they want? She gets help from a ghost
hunter but will they be able to find out what or
who it is that's troubling Tracy?

I didn't really expect much from this seeing as
how almost every DTV horror film from Lions Gate
these days is beyond abysmal. Well, Ghostwatcher 2
actually surprised me like hell, the first movie
wasn't really anything special but they really did
manage to nail this one. Ghostwatcher 2 does start
out pretty slowly and doesn't seem like it has any
real potential, but bare with it for a couple of
minutes and you'll be in for one hell of a time.

The movie is fast-paced and has a great, creepy
atmosphere going for it as well as heaps of good
scares. The story is very well put together and
plays on completely different levels than the
first movie did. Lions Gate definitely made the
right choice by releasing this around Halloween
since it is a perfect Halloween film.

It's amazing how much a director can develop in
such short time. David A Cross has really pulled
this one of with his slick directing, much more
so than he did in the first movie. Jillian Byrnes
reprises her role as Laura Kove and she also
manages to step it up a notch and gives us a very
good performance. The rest of the cast is brand
new though and Julia Pickens shows a lot of
potential, perhaps a future DTV scream queen?

It's not often that a sequel manages to surpass
the original, especially not when it's DTV but
Ghostwatcher 2 is one of those movies which
actually manages to do it. This sequel wasn't
just a little bit better than the first one
either, it was simply like watching a completely
different film as it was such a big improvement
that you almost couldn't believe that it was
connected to the first movie in any way. Don't
miss this one even if you didn't like the first
movie, this is just a very creepy ghost flick.

Nothing worth mentioning here.

The soundtrack could have been a whole lot
creepier, but since the movie itself was so
good, you couldn't even be bothered focusing
on the relatively average soundtrack.

Incredibly good sequel which manages to surpass
the first movie in so many different ways. This
is a creepy, fast-paced horror flick with plenty
of good scares in it. If you didn't like the
first one, don't let that stop you as this is
a completely different film.
